New Cover….
This is the cover for my MLR Mixed Tape story, Sharp Dressed Man. It’ll be releasing on June 7th…and I thought I’d share the blurb for it, which as you all know isn’t something I do very often. And it’s not because I’m trying to be mysterious or want to make you look at other pages on my website. Though I’d like if you took a tour through it once in a while…lol. Mostly I don’t post blurbs because I don’t think about it. You’re probably thinking..Lady, that’s crazy. How am I supposed to know if I want the book if I have no idea what the book’s about?
And you’d be right. So I’m going to try and do better about posting blurbs to go with my covers. đ I got another awesome cover today besides this one for the single release version of my GRL Unconventional in Atlanta story. But I’ll share that with you on Friday. I also got the cover for the second book in my m/f Fallen series (written as Tiffany Aaron)…and I’d like to share it with everyone, if you don’t mind. đ But that will be another day.
Okay…so Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top is obviously the theme song for this story. đ It’s about two best friends who, after twenty-five years, finally admit they’re in love with each other.
Blurb:
Jim Stanton and Daniel Perkins fell in love with each other at a ZZ Top concert in 1987, though they never admitted it. After graduation, they let their love slip away, but never forgot. Their 25th class reunion gives them the chance to correct the mistake.Â
Hope you think it’s interesting enough to pick up. đ
Have a great day…and yes there will be Hearts on the Line action tomorrow. đ
Wishing for a Home is out now…
Wishing for a Home is available now at Total e-Bound, if you didn’t get it when it was available before. I did add some to it, but I don’t think there’s a significant amount that anyone would notice. đ You can check it out at Total e-Bound here.
I finished Sharp Dressed Man last week, and submitted it to MLR Press. As soon as I get a release date for it, I’ll let you know. đ
I’ve been sick, so after I finished SDM, I haven’t done much, though I did start a new story at 1 am..lol. My mind wouldn’t let me turn it off, and I wrote the first chapter and part of the second before I forced myself to go back to bed.
I’ll be working on King, Remove the Space Between Us (which is the new title for my Billionaire story), From Yesterday, and the story I started the other night (which doesn’t have a title yet) this week. Hopefully, one or two will be finished by the end of the week. đ
Oh, and I registered for GayRomLit. So I’ll be seeing everyone in Atlanta in October. đ
It’s raining here, so it’s a good reason to stay inside, curl up on the couch and type away on some stories. đ
Have a great Monday, everyone.
Wednesday Work in Progress…
I know it’s Thursday, but everything got pushed back a day..lol. Plus I didn’t have a chance to write the next installment last night. So I decided to give you a sneak peek at my story for the 2013 GRL anthology. This anthology is going to be a little different from last year’s but I think you’re all going to enjoy it.
Also, I’ll have a new cover to reveal to you on Monday. đ Can’t wait to see what you all think. This is the last bit I wrote yesterday.
Here’s the excerpt:
The Occasional Prostitute copyright c. 2013 T.A. Chase
âHa. Thought youâd like him. Young and hot, but a good guy as well.â
âDoes he have to be a good guy? Canât he be just a good fuck?â He sent the message, then looked up to see Gib shooing the last stragglers out of the bar. Gib caught him looking, and waved.
âGood one, Masters. I wouldâve sent you to a different guy if I thought you just wanted a fuck.â
Was he that easy to read? He didnât like anonymous sex much any more. Maybe it was because he was forty, and was feeling his age. âIâm not looking for anything serious, Chen.â
âKeep telling yourself that. Have a good time. Call you later in the week to see how youâre doing.â
He knew he wouldnât be getting anything else from Chen. Theyâve been friends since college, and theyâd chased bed partners together, yet it was more than that. Theyâd both come from privileged backgrounds, but didnât want to follow in their fathersâ footsteps. Chen had become one of the worldâs most sought after neurosurgeons. Heâd made a fortune in his job, but he also travelled the world, performing pro-bono surgeries for charities and poverty-stricken countries. Chenâs father had wanted him to be a corporate lawyer.
Edwin turned his back on his fatherâs well thought out plan for his only sonâs political career. He had no interest in following in his fatherâs career. No, Edwin wanted excitement and the pursuit of truth. He became a journalist to try and keep governments honest. It didnât always work, but he did his best while dodging bullets and being taken hostage. His father kept trying to get him involved in his campaigns, and other people Edwin Masters Sr supported. He managed to stay away from picking anyone. As a reporter, he had to remain neutral, much to his fatherâs disappointment.
He didnât understand Chenâs last text. Keep telling himself that he wasnât looking for anything serious? But he wasnât. Mostly because he was in Atlanta for two weeks, then he was off to some other war-torn countries. He didnât want to leave someone behind who would hurt if he died.
And he didnât want his life restricted by having someone else dependent on him. Edwin enjoyed flying around the world, reporting from exotic places. He returned to the States to remind himself that there were modern conveniences out there, then he got a new assignment and headed out again.
Having a relationship would put a damper on those adventures, and Edwin didnât think he was ready to stop taking them.
âAre you ready?â
Glancing up, he saw Gib standing a few feet away, holding a bag. Edwin tucked his phone away, then stood.
âYes, I am.â
âSorry about making you wait and all, but having an honest job sucks.â Gib laughed as he led the way to the elevator.
Edwin let his gaze drop to study Gibâs ass, flexing under the tight fabric of Gibâs black pants. His hands itched to grab a handful of that bubble butt, but he kept himself under control. Being an adult, he could control himself until they got to his room.
Once they were alone in the elevator, Gib turned to look at him. Edwin watched as Gib stepped closer and closer until his chest pressed against Edwinâs. He didnât think Gib was trying to intimidate him, and if he was, it wouldnât have worked. Some of the most powerful men in the world had tried to do that, and while Gib was drop-dead gorgeous, he really wasnât as scary as a crazy dictator with several armed bodyguards.
âDo you like to kiss?â
Gibâs question caught him off guard. âDo I like to kiss?â
Gib nodded. âSome of my clients donât like to kiss. Iâm okay with that, though I love to kiss.â
Edwin didnât respond with words. He encircled Gibâs waist with his arm, then pulled him as close as they could get with their clothes still on. After burying his hand in Gibâs curls, he tilted Gibâs head for a better angle, then brought their lips together.
Gasping, Gib melted into Edwinâs embrace, seemingly willing to give himself over to Edwin. He nibbled on Gibâs bottom lip, trying to persuade him to open. He leant forward, bending Gib over his arm, and forcing Gib to grab a hold of Edwinâs shoulders to keep his balance.
When Gib moaned, Edwin swept his tongue in, tasting Gib for the first time. He mustâve had a drink at some point before he came to get Edwin, since he found a hint of hops in Gibâs mouth as he duelled with and sucked on Gibâs tongue.
Home of His Own available now….
Home of His Own is available now at Total e-Bound, if you didn’t pick it up the first time it was out. Click here to check it out. đ This will be available in print at some point in the near future as well.
Dreaming of Dragons was re-released by MLR Press on Friday. Just re-edited as well, but it will be available in print at some point. đ Yay! Click here to check it out.
Home Sweet Home was turned in on Thursday night. Yay! It’ll be out in May..and up for pre-order in the next couple of months. The Home series was the first series I ever started writing. Of course, it’s taken seven long years to get it done. I appreciate all of you sticking with me and bugging me every chance you got about Yancey and Juan. I hope you feel I did their story justice when you get to read it.
I’m working on my GRL anthology story, The Occasional Prostitute, and I’m hoping to get that done in the next couple of days. Then I’ll be working on the second book in the International Men of Sports series that I’m co-authoring with Devon Rhodes, which is titled Chasing the King of the Mountains. It’s about a French cyclist and a French reporter, and takes place during the Tour de France. As you can tell, we’re trying to feature sports that might not always get spotlighted in stories, and we wanted sports that are popular in a particular country. Cricket in India, Cycling in France, Soccer/Football in Germany, Rugby in Australia, Curling and Hockey in Canada, and Beach Volleyball in Brazil.
Also, I’ll be working on Thieves, the last book in The Beasor Chronicles, and at some point next week, I’ll be starting Pray for the Thunder, a short story for MLR Press. đ So while it looks like I have a bunch of stuff to do (and I do), I think I have it under control.
Of course, I’ll have edits mixed in there…lol. I actually have edits on Stealing Life, which will be re-released by Total e-Bound on July 1st, and within the next day or two, I’ll have edits for Home Sweet Home. But edits are okay. They don’t take nearly as long as writing the books themselves. (usually)
Okay, so I hope you all have a good Monday. Those who were hardest hit by the snowstorm, I hope you’re all safe and sound. Digging out is crappy.
Monday again…
Check out what I saw from my kitchen in my backyard….not really. And not that any of you really thought there’d be penguins in my backyard. Though that would have been totally awesome…lol. It did snow last night though, and I’m not very happy about it. I’m hoping the roads are good, so I can go up and visit my mom today. Didn’t get up there yesterday because I had a headache.
Okay…to update you on my writing. Home Sweet Home is going well. Not as far along as I’d like, but still I’m sure I can get it done by the end of the month. đ The Occasional Prostitute (my contribution to the 2013 GRL antho) is coming along as well.
Also, Devon Rhodes and I have started our book. We’re writing a series of six stories about men and international sports. So the sports aren’t going to be your usual basketball, baseball, or anything like that. A Sticky Wicket in Bollywood is the first in the series, and it’s about cricket and is set in India. Hopefully when it comes out, you’ll all love it. đ
Plus Ninja Cupcakes is out for general release at Total e-Bound, and Home of his Own is up for VIP download. If anyone is interested in them, or for some reason, doesn’t have them yet. Wishing for a Home has hit the coming soon page at TeB and No Going Home is available in print starting today.
Oh…and my marvelous editor at MLR Press, Kris Jacen, has an interview at Top2Bottom Review. Please take a minute to stop by and read it. She talks about how busy an editor’s life really is. In my opinion, editors have the tough job out there. At times, I think writing is hard, but really I’m just putting  down on ‘paper’ the daydreams in my head. Kris has to make sure those daydreams make sense. đ
Almost forgot the link. Click here.
Well, I have a lot of work to do…and not enough hours in the day to do it. I hope you all have an awesome Monday.
Wednesday Work in Progress…
All right. So I’m only about 4-5k away from finishing Reserved for Him. I’m sure it’ll be done today and submitted. Yay! Then I’ll be starting Home Sweet Home, and India. Oh, and my GRL story. đ But hey, at least I can cross one more story off my list.
Today, I thought I’d share an excerpt from Reserved for Him. This is the only peek at it you get…lol…since it’ll be done today.
I hope you all have a great day, and enjoy the glimpse of Ion and Adrien.
Excerpt: Reserved for Him (copyright c. 2013 T.A. Chase)
He rubbed his sweaty palms on his pants, then checked his reflection in the mirror by the door one last time. Ion opened the door with a smile, but his jaw almost hit the floor when he saw Adrien standing in front of him.
Seeing the man in suits all day at the office had told Ion Adrien had a sense of style and loved tailored clothing. Obviously Adrien stepped it up a notch when it came to going out on a date. The dark blue silky dress shirt he wore clung to him like a second skin. Adrienâs black slacks emphasised his muscled thighs, and Ion couldnât wait to see what it did to Adrienâs backside. The man oozed sex and charisma from every pore.
âIâm going to have to fight everyone off you with a stick,â Ion mumbled.
After Adrien strolled in, he swept Ion into his arms and kissed him. Ion forgot every worry and nervous thought he might have had as soon as Adrienâs lips touched his. He buried his fingers in Adrienâs hair, holding tight while Adrien overwhelmed him.
The only thought in Ionâs brain was how soon could he get Adrien into his bed, and was he hungry enough for food to leave his apartment. It wasnât until his lungs burnt from lack of oxygen that he decided to take a step back.
Adrien didnât let him break their embrace. He rested his forehead against Ionâs, and they slowed their breathing together.
âI want you, Ion. More than Iâve ever wanted another man before, and thatâs saying something.â
A small jolt of jealousy hit Ion, but he knew it was stupid to feel that way. Adrien was a mature male with money and power. Of course, he was going to have a lot of lovers before Ion. A tiny voice in Ionâs head said that he wouldnât be having any other lovers after Ion if Ion had any say in it.
âI want you as well, Adrien,â Ion admitted, not seeing the harm in confessing the obvious.
Adrien took a step back, leaving his hands at Ionâs hips. âBut I want us to have dinner together, and get to know each other better before we jump into bed. I think weâre looking for the same thing here, and it isnât a quick roll in the hay.â
Ion shook his head. âIt might seem odd, because Iâm not that old, but Iâm tired of the club scene and hook-ups. Maybe itâs because I have big plans for myself, and it doesnât seem like a lot of the guys I run into are interested in that.â
âMaybe you just needed an older man to see the possibilities with you.â Adrien dove in for a quick peck, then he gestured towards the door. âWe should be going. Our reservations are for eight oâclock and we donât want to be late.â
Ion grabbed his jacket, and all the rest of his things.
Tuesday….a little better
Okay…so I finished Leaving Home yesterday. Got that into my editor, and we’ll be starting edits on it very soon. As soon as it comes up for pre-order/VIP sales, I’ll let everyone know. đ
I also did the last set of edits on Where the Devil Dances and Dreaming of Dragons, and got them to their respective editors as well. I started working on Reserved for Him, a short story for a TeB anthology. I’m hoping to get it done in the next couple of days. I’ll be starting Home Sweet Home (Yancey/Juan) and a project I’m working on with Devon Rhodes tentatively titled India (just until we get the okay to use the title we want…lol) Oh, and my short story for the newest GRL anthology needs to be done soon as well.
As you can see I have a lot on my plate, but I’m hoping to get some of them done quicker than others. The two short stories should be easy to whip out, if I don’t go crazy first from the pressure…lol
I hope you all have a great Tuesday.
Getting in a groove…
I’m hoping to get some more writing done on The Whore of New Slum, which is my steampunk story. It’s coming out in February of 2013 from Amber Allure. I don’t have an exact date for it yet, but that’ll come probably when all the other stories for this particular PAX are turned in. I’ll announce it as soon as I get it.
Also, plans are in the works for another GRL anthology at Total e-Bound, featuring the same authors that were in the Unconventional…at Best antho. If everything comes together (like I know it will…lol), the antho will be out in August of 2013, and the print version should be available before GRL in Atlanta next October. Woot! I think everyone will get a kick out of this anthology. We’re doing something slightly different. I’m not going to say anything else because I don’t want to give anything away. When I get working on my story, I’ll let you know what the title is. đ
Okay…well, I better go get dressed and set down to get some writing done. I think there might be a big revelation coming in the blog story. đ
Hope you all have a great Monday.
Unpacked…finally
Here’s a picture from lunch on Wednesday before GRL started. đ Starting from the left, the lovely ladies are…Devon Rhodes, Stephani Hecht, me, Jackie Nacht, and VJ Summers. We had lots of fun. It was awesome getting to see old friends, and making new ones. đ
Sorry it took so long to post something today. Slept late and wanted to get unpacked before I did anything else. But everything is put away or thrown in the laundry pile…lol. Now I can sit and write. (hopefully) Have to get back into the swing of things.
I hope you all had a great weekend, and please have a marvelous Monday.
