Archive for The Whore of New Slum

Hey…

sorry, everyone. Got hit with a migraine and ended up not doing much of anything yesterday. I’m feeling better, so I plan on getting the next installment done for you all. 🙂

Oh and good news, Wilde City will be re-releasing The Whore of New Slum and Duncan’s World. Yes, there will be new content. Each book will have enough words added to them for them to hit the 50k mark and hopefully get put into print. (Keep your fingers crossed…lol)

Have a great day.

New Book available

AimHigh_BlogTour_600x315_final

There’s a blog tour going on for my newest story, Possibilities, which is part of the Aim High anthology. All stories with at least one character who is in the Air Force. 🙂

Here’s the link to yesterday’s post. It’s Stephanie Hecht talking about her story. http://shirleyfrancesbooksandmore.com/2015/09/tour-aim-high-anthology-from-pride-publishing-guest-post-review-and-excerpt/

There will be more from the other wonderful authors in the anthology. Also, I’ll be doing another blog tour when my book, Climbing the Savage Mountain, comes out, so I’ll post the dates on that when I get them.

I’m trying to decide what to write next for my blog story. Edward’s story is in progress, so there will be something soon about him. I’m doing a story for Amber Allure set in the universe of The Whore of New Slum. Hmm…do any of you have suggestions? I will admit though, I’m heading to Portland next week and will be in San Diego for GRL the week after, so I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to start anything until I get back. I will try to post more often then and maybe even some pictures from GRL while I’m there.

I hope you all have a great day.

New Cover….

ThreadbareGypsySouls

Here’s the beautiful cover for Threadbare Gypsy Souls. Isn’t is gorgeous? Trace did a wonderful job getting all the components I wanted in there. The wolf and the motorcycle. 🙂 It’ll be out in April. Woo-hoo!

Also, thank you for making The Whore of New Slum the #1 bestseller at Amber Allure’s site, and making They Walk Among Us #5 on that same list as well. 🙂 You are awesome.

I’m planning on finishing Sharp Dressed Man today, and sending it off to my editor at MLR Press. I trimmed out the words I needed to on Fallen: Chicago to get it down to an acceptable length, and sent it to TEB. Have to go back and finish filling out the form to go with it though…lol. Forgot to double check and make sure I filled it all out. 🙂

The Fallen series is a M/F series I’d written a long time ago under my other pen name, Tiffany Aaron. I decided to get them republished instead of languishing on my laptop. So the first four books will be out this year, hopefully. I’m adding another four books to the series as well. (Because I’m a glutton for punishment apparently..lol) I’ll also be writing new stories as Tiffany, but don’t worry. I’m not going to stop writing TA stories.

My main focus will be on my M/M stories, but every once in a while, it’s nice to write something different. I hope you don’t mind me mentioning my M/F books here. I will have a separate website for Tiffany Aaron eventually.

So once Sharp Dressed Man is done, I’ll be working on Chasing the King of the Mountains, my book I’m co-authoring with Devon Rhodes, and adding to the short story I subbed to TEB for their Billionaire antho that didn’t get in. I’m adding more to it, so it can be a single title release. Woot! Once that’s done, I have a few other stories I need to look at and decide which I want to work on.

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend.

New cover and contest….

astickywicketinbollywood_800

I realized I haven’t shared this with you yet. This is the cover for the first book in the International Men of Sports series I’m co-authoring with Devon Rhodes. I totally love this cover, and can’t wait to see the rest of them…lol. Of course we have to write them first. This will be out in May. I’ll let you know when it’s up for pre-order, and VIP download. 🙂 I hope you enjoy these men.

Also, I posted a new excerpt from The Whore of New Slum at the Amber Allure Pax blog. Click here to go and check it out. We’re running a contest, and if you comment, you’re entered for a chance to win the entire Steampunk PAX. They’re drawing the winner on Saturday. The whole week has been posts from the authors in the PAX. Should be some interesting posts. 🙂

For those of you who have asked, I do plan on writing a sequel to The Whore. Not right away since I have some other books to finish up, but there will be more to their story at some point in the future.

I hope you all have a great weekend and stay warm.

The Whore of New Slum is available now…

WhoreNewSlum

The Whore of New Slum is available now at Amber Allure. Click here to check it out. It’s my first attempt at Steampunk, so I’m not sure how will I achieved it, but I liked the story. 🙂 Remember if you buy all five books in the PAX, you’ll get them for a discount. And there are some really good books in the PAX.

I’ll be writing all day again…lol. When am I not writing? But it’s something I love to do, so I can’t complain.

I hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful Monday. 🙂

Cover for The Whore of New Slum

WhoreNewSlum

Here’s the cover for my steampunk story, The Whore of New Slum, which comes out Feb. 17th from Amber Allure. 🙂 I love this cover. I just wish it was long enough to go into print. Maybe I’ll have to write another story about Wendall and Abdur, so they can be put together and released in print. I’ll have to see how everyone likes them.

I finished the edits on They Walk Among Us, which will be out on Jan. 27th, and I’ll be doing my first set of edits on Leaving Home today. Then I’ll continue working on Home Sweet Home, and hope I make some more progress on it.

I hope you all have a great Friday…and a marvelous weekend.

Wednesday Work In Progress…

I thought I’d share another excerpt from The Whore of New Slum before I submit it. Next week I’ll be sharing a little bit from Leaving Home, Peter’s story. 😉

Excerpt: (copyright 2012 T.A. Chase)

Wendall gritted his teeth as he pushed through the crowd of people. The search parties were disrupting everything in New Slum, and Wendall found it annoyed him. Maybe if they didn’t put Abdur in danger, or keep Wendall from seeing his sister, he wouldn’t mind them so much. It was good business for the brothel. Oh the soldiers wouldn’t be using any of the whores, but they would be buying drinks, and so would others who’d stop by to talk about what was going on.

He jogged up the front steps of the hospital. After shoving open the doors, he greeted the nun at the desk.

“I’m here to see my sister. Please tell the Mother Superior that I would like to talk to her.”

“Yes, sir.” The sister reached for the messenger to contact the Mother Superior.

Impatient to see Molly, Wendall didn’t wait for the elevator. He ran up all three flights of stairs, barely winded when he reached the terminal ward. Wendall stopped to take a deep breath before going into his sister’s room.

Molly might be dying, but he didn’t want her to see him panicked in any way. She was a smart girl, and had to know what was happening to her. Wendall simply didn’t want her to worry about him, and how he might be handling her death.

“How’s my favorite girl doing today?” He bounded into the room with a bright smile on his face.

She offered him a weak grin in return. “I’m your only sister, so I have to be your favorite girl.”

“Not true, my darling. Not true at all.”

He fought back the tears, trying hard to continue to look happy while he could tell the toll the disease was having on her body. Her ravaged face looked almost skeleton-like. He swore she’d lost more weight in the twenty-four hours since he’d seen her last.

Leaning down to kiss her cheek, he wrinkled his nose at the odor coming from Molly. It was a sure sign that she was dying, and her human form was wasting away. Her skin was fragile and dry like all life had been sucked from her.

“You are looking rather…” He paused, unsure how to continue.

“Horrid is the word you’re trying to find.” Her laugh turned into a harsh cough.

Wendall rushed over to the side table, then grabbed the pitcher of water to pour a glass for her. After sitting on the side of the bed, he slid his arm around Molly’s shoulders.

“Lean on me while you drink,” he suggested.

Molly took a few sips before she pushed the glass away. “Thank you. I can’t seem to get rid of this cough, and I haven’t been feeling good today.”

“Then you must not wear yourself out, love. Would you like me to brush your hair?” He retrieved the brush set on Molly’s dresser, then returned to the bed.

After settling back against the pillows, he helped his sister to rest against his chest. Molly sighed as he ran the brush through her dull hair. All the tension in her body disappeared slowly with each stroke, and Wendall started to hum softly.

Memories of so many nights where he would brush Molly’s hair before she went to bed danced through his head. Their mother had died when Molly was only three, and while their father was alive, Wendall could stay home to take care of his sister. Being six years old, he didn’t want to take care of his little sister. He wanted to be out playing with his friends, but he didn’t have a choice.

He thought he did a good job, and then he turned eighteen and his father died. Wendall was left having to support Molly all on his own. It was one of the reasons why he chose to go into the sex peddling business. The money he could make on his back could keep Molly in a nice apartment, which being in the Slum didn’t mean much.

Wendall knew Molly appreciated everything Wendall had done for her, but she’d been swept off her feet by a man who promised her so much more than she had. Then he left her when he went off to war, and by then, she was sick. So Wendall had managed to get a pass to go to New Island where he found Molly and brought her home.

Unfortunately, she was so ill, the only place he could take her was the hospital. He did his best to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. Wendall glanced down to see that at some point, Molly had fallen asleep.

Wiggling slightly, he rested his head against the pillows and closed his eyes. He ran through his activities for the next several days to come. There were a lot of things he needed to do, not just for The Pink Carnation, but for other meetings as well.

Wishing for a Home cover…

Here’s the new cover for Wishing for a Home. 🙂 I think all of the new covers are great. Definitely know they belong together, don’t you? I’ll have to go and check to see when it’ll be out.

I plan on finishing The Whore of New Slum today, and filling out the forms before sending it in. I’ve already started Leaving Home, Peter’s story. That one will be done by the end of Dec. along with at least one short story. (keeping my fingers crossed on that)

I hope you all have a great Monday. 🙂

End of the month already?

I’ll be sharing a new cover next Monday. 🙂 Yay!

Well, I have to fill in the middle part of my steampunk story, and I’m hoping to get it done today, but I’m not sure if I can. If not, I’ll have to ask for an extension…just a short one..lol. As soon as The Whore of New Slum is done, I’ll be starting the next Home book-Leaving Home (Peter’s story) and a short story titled Reserved for Him. The short story goes to Total e-Bound as well. So I have a bunch of new stories coming out next year at TeB as well as a few old stories being re-released.

I hope you all have a great weekend. 🙂 I’ll be writing my fingers to the bone. (Not really, but I’ll be writing as much as possible…lol)

Stop back tomorrow….

I added a nice amount of words to The Whore yesterday, so I’ll be writing the next installment for the blog story today…along with more to the steampunk story. I’m almost finished with it, then I can start another story right away…lol. No rest for the wicked I guess.

Well, I hope you all have a great day, and please stop by tomorrow for the next installment. 🙂
