New Cover….

NowhereDinerFindingPeace

This is the cover for Nowhere Diner: Finding Peace. (as if you couldn’t tell by reading it…lol) It’ll be out in ebook format on March 23rd, then out in print in mid-April or so. šŸ™‚ I did add some new stuff to the end of the story.

I subbed Footsteps of My Father yesterday. It’s Book 3 of the Rags to Riches series and I’ll share the dates with you all when I get them.

I’m starting the last Fallen book, St Petersburg, which is Lucifer’s story. Because he’s not evil. He’s simply misunderstood…lol. šŸ™‚ Still working on Losing Sight of the Target and just started A Grand Prix Romance (Monaco) with Devon. So I have a full plate still. One of those ‘no rest for the wicked’ things.

I hope you are having a great President’s Day. For those of you with the day off, enjoy. And those of you who have to go work…I’m sorry. Be safe and warm out there.

Wednesday’s Work in Progress…NSFW

tumblr_m9hmhnWbLE1qeadajo1_500

I have three different works in progress at the moment, but I’m only going to share one with you. lol

This one is Losing Sight of the Target, and it’s about Justin, who is a biathlete, on his way to the Olympics, but he’s received some bad news that will affect his future. Caesar is the guy he runs into at the hotel bar. šŸ™‚ Ā It’s for Amber Allure’s Winter Games PAX, which will be out at some point this year…lol. Not sure when. I only know when my deadline is.

Losing Sight of the Target copyright c. 2014 T.A. Chase

Excerpt-

Caesar Gikas rotated his shoulders, releasing the tension in them before he raised his hands to knock on Justinā€™s door. His meeting had run a little longer than he planned and it had been more difficult as well. Yet the thought of coming back to Justinā€™s room was what got him through.

Hesitating, he wondered about it. Was this the right thing to do? Justin had gotten bad news and Caesar had a feeling like he was taking advantage of the younger man. He shouldā€™ve never approached Justin while in the bar waiting for his contact to text him. But thereā€™d been something so sad and angry about him that Caesar couldnā€™t pass up because he saw a little bit of himself in Justinā€™s expression.

Why was he worried about Justin? It wasnā€™t like they were starting a relationship or anything, and Justin had consented to him returning. Hell, the man didnā€™t have to send him his room number if heā€™d changed his mind.

Shaking his head, Caesar knocked on the door. He stuck his hands in the back pocket of his jeans. Heā€™d stopped at his room to change before heā€™d come over. Heā€™d also stuffed a couple condoms and single-use packets of lube. Caesar didnā€™t know if Justin had supplies or not, and he wanted to fuck Justin, so heā€™d brought his own.

His jaw dropped when Justin opened the door. Standing in front of him, Justin wore only a pair of black boxer-briefs.

ā€œJesus, Justin. Youā€™re gorgeous.ā€ Caesar pushed in, forcing Justin to give way.

The manā€™s blond hair was cut short on the sides and left longer on top to curl. His face was thin with high cheekbones and a strong jaw. Startlingly dark eyelashes framed Justinā€™s bright green eyes.

Caesar trailed his gaze over the rest of Justinā€™s body. It was obvious Justin worked out a lot and was an athlete. Well-muscled chest and rock hard abs made Caesarā€™s fingers itch with him wanting to trace the curves. He couldnā€™t wait to run his tongue along the vee cut of his hips and waist. The cotton fabric of his briefs covered Justinā€™s thick thighs.

After kicking the door shut, Caesar snaked out his hands to grip Justinā€™s hips and yanked him tight against him. He brought his head down to crush his lips to Justinā€™s. Sweeping his tongue into Justinā€™s mouth, he tasted mint and a unique flavor that had to be Justinā€™s alone. At some point before Caesar got there, Justin had taken the time to brush his teeth.

That made Caesar feel like he was important to Justin, which he knew deep inside was foolish since theyā€™d just met, but he still liked the thought. He slid his hands down to grab handfuls of Justinā€™s tight ass, encouraging him to jump.

Justin wrapped his legs around Caesarā€™s waist and he carried his soon-to-be lover over to the bed where he fell forward. He twisted at the last moment so he was the one on the bottom. He didnā€™t want to hurt Justin.

He bit Justinā€™s bottom lip then sucked on it to ease the sting. Caesar pushed his hips up to rock his groin into Justinā€™s. Justin moaned as he scrambled his hands over Caesarā€™s chest. Maybe he was trying to get a hold of Caesarā€™s shirt to get it off him. After sitting up for a second, he stripped his T-shirt away then tossed it to the floor.

ā€œYouā€™re so hot,ā€ Justin muttered as he ran his hand through the hair covering Caesarā€™s chest.

He knew what he looked like and had heard more than his fair share of compliments since he was a teenager. None of them had mattered in the least except for what his looks could get him. Yet hearing that from Justin touched a small part of him that heā€™d thought heā€™d hidden away.

After working his hands under the waistband of Justinā€™s briefs, he flexed his fingers to dig into that firm flesh. ā€œI think youā€™re wearing too much clothing,ā€ he joked.

Justin jumped off him then stripped. When he went to climb back on, Caesar urged him to kneel over his chest and place his knees in his armpits. Justin grinned once he figured out what Caesar wanted. Wiggling forward just a little bit more, Justin took a hold of his cock.

Caesar opened his mouth and Justin rested the head of his dick in Caesarā€™s mouth. After he wrapped his lips around it, Caesar ran his tongue over the spongy glans, licking up the pre-cum leaking from Justinā€™s slit. He curled his fingers into Justinā€™s ass then encouraged him to start moving.

The first thrust in, Caesar relaxed his throat to take him all the way in. He hit the back of Caesarā€™s throat and cut off his breathing for a moment. Before he started to panic, Justin slid out enough to let him take some air in. Caesar filled his lungs and pinched Justinā€™s butt.

I finished London, Book 7 of my Fallen series, last night and turned it in. Yay! One more left in that series and it’ll be Lucifer who finally gets his own story. lol But I’m working on Losing Sight of the Target, my Biathlon story for a Winter Games PAX at Amber Allure. Ā Justin is a world-class biathlete (not sure if that’s what you call them…lol) and he receives some devastating news that changes how he thinks about the world around him. It’s not technically due until June 1st, but I want to get it off the list.

Then I’ll start Footsteps of My Father, Book 3 in the Rags to Riches series. And Devon and I will be starting A Grand Prix Romance (takes place in Monaco) in the next week or so.

As you can see, my full writing schedule continues. lol. I think I’m a glutton for punishment, having so many stories going. But I find I’m happiest when I’m writing. So it’s a good thing. šŸ™‚

Oh we changed the title on the Rio book. It’s now Serving Love at Carnival. šŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see the cover. Woo-hoo!

I hope you’re all staying warm and safe on this Monday.

HeartsOnLine

This is the cover for Hearts on the Line coming from Amber Allure on Feb 23rd. šŸ™‚ The print version will be out a few weeks after the ebook one. I found the picture and Trace was nice enough to use the one I wanted. I thought it had just the right amount of military feel to it. šŸ™‚

I should be receiving the cover for Burning Up the Ice soon as well. We just got our Final Line Edits for that and we’ll be going through those today. Yay!

I’ve been working on Brazil and London, and moving right along on both of them. Since it’s still snowing here and the wind chill is supposed to be some crazy below zero number, I think I’m just going to stay inside and continue to write. The cold is a good way to stay focused. lol

I hope you all are safe and warm.

Wednesday’s Work in Progress…

tumblr_m9hmhnWbLE1qeadajo1_500

First of all, I have a post up at Amber Kell’s for her birthday bash. It’s a little snippet of Ronnie and Lucius from Embrace My Reflection and Bring Him Gold. Check it out here.

And secondly, I thought I’d post a little glimpse at From Yesterday, which is the third book in the Rupert’s Legacy series I have at MLR Press. The first two books are Joy of the Season and Replacing Memories. I think I shared something from this story once before when I started working on it, but it kind of got pushed to the back burner for some other stories. I decided to see if I can get it finished by the end of the year. (Which really isn’t that far off any more…lol)

So here you go:

From Yesterday copyright c. 2013 T.A. Chase

Carlos tightened his grip as Miguel snuggled closer. He rested his cheek on the top of Miguelā€™s head. ā€œIā€™m supposed to text him when I get done visiting you. He lives here on the grounds, so Iā€™m having coffee at his place.ā€

ā€œYouā€™ll tell me everything, right?ā€ Miguelā€™s low request touched Carlosā€™ heart.

ā€œWithin reason, hermanito. You know I donā€™t kiss and tell, plus I donā€™t think Phillip would like me spilling all his personal business to people heā€™ll see every day.ā€ Carlos leaned back into the cushions, humming softly.

He understood why Miguel had asked him that. His brother was never going to get another chance at romance or a date. All the advances science had made in the medicines for HIV/AIDS didnā€™t matter if Miguelā€™s body rejected them. The doctors had told them it would only be a matter of time now. The only thing they could do was keep Miguel comfortable and as pain free as possible. He was happy that they hadnā€™t given them a timeline.

Putting a timeline to dying was a horrid practice in Carlosā€™ opinion. Too many people gave up hope when told they only had four months to live. Carlos saw it as a nurse as well. Yet there were people who, when told they were going to die soon, fought with every ounce of energy in them and they live longer than doctors thought.

He wished Miguel could do that, but his little brother had been fighting most of his life. He was getting tired and losing hope. Carlos wanted to beg Miguel to keep up the battle, yet he knew it was for selfish reasons. He didnā€™t want to lose his brother. Not this soon when they both had so much life to experience.

Closing his eyes, Carlos relaxed, enjoying being with Miguel, even if they werenā€™t talking. It was nice to spend time together without having to worry about their family causing problems.

ā€œCarlos,ā€ Miguel murmured, causing him to open his eyes.

ā€œYes?ā€ He shifted a little, pins and needles racing along his arm like it had fallen asleep.

ā€œHow long were we asleep?ā€ Miguel moved away from him.

Carlos rubbed his eyes before checking his watch. ā€œAbout thirty minutes,ā€ he relayed the information. ā€œNot very long, but I feel better.ā€

Miguel laughed, then yawned. ā€œSo do I, though I think Iā€™d like to go and try to take another one in my bed this time. Walk me to my room? Then you can go have coffee with Phillip.ā€

ā€œI can do that.ā€

They walked to Miguelā€™s suite where Carlos made sure his brother had everything he might want near the bed. Before he left, he turned to say, ā€œDonā€™t forget. Iā€™m still here. If you need me for anything, just text and Iā€™ll come back.ā€

ā€œGet out of here. If itā€™s not too late when you leave, you can stop back by to say good-bye.ā€ Miguel motioned him out of the room.

ā€œAll right.ā€ He shut the door behind him before strolling back to the front desk. Sarah was still there. ā€œMiguelā€™s lying down in his room. Iā€™m still going to be on the grounds, so if something happens, you can text me.ā€

ā€œNo problem, Carlos. Iā€™m sure everything will be fine tonight.ā€ Sarah smiled. ā€œHave fun and tell Phillip I said hi.ā€

ā€œI will.ā€ He rushed from the building, not wanting to have to deal with any more comments about Phillip, even the purely innocent ones, which he wasnā€™t entirely sure Sarahā€™s was by the way.

Leaning against his car, he pulled out his phone then sent Phillip a text. A minute later, a message appeared on the screen.

B there in 5.

K.

Carlos put his phone in his pocket, then let his head fall back as he soaked up the waning beams of fall sunlight. Heā€™d been working a lot of hours lately, trying to store up time for when the inevitable happens.

ā€œAre you okay?ā€

He jerked when a hand landed on his shoulder. Opening his eyes, he saw Phillip standing in front of him. Carlos held his breath as Phillip reached out to rub his thumb over Carlosā€™ cheek. It was wet when he showed it to Carlos.

ā€œIā€™m fine,ā€ Carlos reassured him, wiping his face with his sleeve. ā€œJust a momentary lapse. I canā€™t show them to Miguel yet.ā€

Phillipā€™s expression said he understood. ā€œAt some point soon, itā€™ll be time for you to share tears with him. When it comes, donā€™t hide them from Miguel. He needs to know heā€™ll be missed after heā€™s gone.ā€

Carlos threw himself into Phillipā€™s embrace. Burrowing his face into the manā€™s shirt, he sighed when Phillip wrapped his arms around him. They didnā€™t talk, simply breathed together, and Carlos discovered his heart easing away from the depth of despair threatening to suck him under.

Finally, he took a deep breath of Phillipā€™s clean scent, then stepped back. ā€œThank you,ā€ he whispered.

Friday Q & A…

blindsided_800

This is the very hot cover for Blindsided, my Australian rugby/lifeguard story, written with the amazing Devon Rhodes. It’s be out in the next couple of months. šŸ™‚

Yvonne asked how I decide which publishers to work with.

I guess when I started writing, I submitted to publishers whose books I read and liked. I’m still with one of the three that I started with. I got my rights back from the other two. Not because I didn’t like working with them or anything like that, but because it was time to move on and try something different.

I was invited to submit something to Amber Allure, and I’d read a few books published by them. Also, when they approached me, I had just happened to finish up a book and thought I’d give them a try. So Allergies got sent there.

I started working with Totally Bound because Carol Lynne asked me to co-author a story with her. And really? I wasn’t about to say no to Carol Lynne!!! Ā lol So when we finished Dracul’s Blood, she said she’d like to send it to TB, and I said why not! And now they’re my major publisher. I love working with them and their covers are some of the best in the business, imo.

MLR Press became one of my publishers because I got to know Kris Jacen, the editor in chief there. She became a good friend, and they had some sub calls that caught my eye, so I sent a story in. The rest is history.

Now when I write a story, if it hasn’t already been promised to one of my publishers, I try to think about what kind of story it is, and which pub I think it would fit in better with. Also, I want to make sure that I don’t have too many of the same kind of story coming out at the same pub.

If I ever pick up a new publisher now, it’ll because I like their reputation and the authors they have chosen to publish. Also, that I think they’ll do their utmost to make my story the best it can be.

Does that answer your question, Yvonne? Does anyone else have a question for next week?

Have a great Friday and a marvelous weekend, everyone.

New Cover…

BetweenLoveHate

I know that usually I share a Work in Progress on Wednesday, but Devon and I just finished up Blindsided to submit, so I don’t really have anything to share today. At least not writing-wise.

I do want to share this very pretty cover Trace at Amber Allure did for me. Between Love and Hate will be out in January. It’s a short story, but I think there will be more to be discovered about Kip and Si. They were very interesting men.

I hope you like the cover and come back tomorrow for the next installment of the blog story. I think Zane is about to meet Quinn, and he’s not going to be impressed any more than the rest of us are with the kid. lol.

Have a great Wednesday.

Monday…

DSCN0505

If any of you are going to see Thor this week, this picture is where one of the battles on Earth takes place. It’s the Royal Naval College at Greenwich. I went there last year with a friend while I was in London. šŸ™‚ It’s beautiful.

Sorry this post is so late. I was up really late last night, then got up late and had to rush to meet a friend for lunch and run errands. But I’m here and I got something up. lol

So I submitted Borderline (I got the copyrights back to it last month) to a different publisher. And I also managed to submit Between Love and Hate to Amber Allure for a special submission call they had. I’m on a roll. Two submissions in the first four days of November. Hope I can keep it up…lol. I did add some more words to Borderline to get it to the 50k mark, so it could go into print if this particular pub picks it up. I’m working on adding another 8-12k to Hearts on the Line to wrap up that story and get it submitted as well.

In addition to Hearts, I’m working on Blindsided with Devon, and Remove the Space, which is halfway done. Once those two are finished, we’ll be starting the 5th sports book, and I’ll be starting the 6th Fallen book, Los Angeles. I do have two other books that I’m working as well, but those don’t have deadlines and aren’t spoken for by any publisher, so they get worked on when I have a moment or two.

Well, that’s all the news I have for you today. I have to get to working on the next blog installment, then Ā rugby and genetically engineered soldiers. šŸ™‚

Have a great Monday, everyone.

Wednesday Work in Progress…

Today’s WiP is Between Love and Hate. It’s a story I’m doing for Amber Allure and we already have the picture picked out for the cover. Yay! Ā I’ve been working on this one a lot lately because Kip and Si have been talking to me, even though I have a couple other stories that need to be finished…lol. Can’t help which character talks to me the loudest.

So here’s another little excerpt from Between Love and Hate. copyright c. 2103 T.A. Chase

Excerpt-

After they ordered something to eat, she took a big breath, and asked, ā€œWhere were you for eighteen years?ā€

Stiffening, Kip set his fork down before he looked at her. ā€œI was living a normal life. Since I was four, Iā€™d been in movies and on TV. Nothing about my life could have been called typical. I decided I wanted to be a normal teenager for a while.ā€

Of course, that was a lie because by then heā€™d already started drinking to the point of being drunk most of his time. Heā€™d moved out of his parentsā€™ house, wanting his own freedom to do whatever he wanted. He had a lot of money, and his parents couldnā€™t access the majority of it. Thank God.

His drinking had been bad enough, then when he started doing coke and heroin, he began spending a lot more money. But still his accountant had managed to keep him from blowing through his entire earnings. Royalties were a wonderful thing, and even with him out of the publicā€™s eye.

Kip had been lucky that once he disappeared from Hollywood, the paparazzi lost interest in him, so he didnā€™t have to worry about anyone finding out about his addiction.

ā€œMr. James, I know you entered a rehab facility two years ago. When you got out, you were cast in this movie by a director who was close to you when you were younger.ā€ She leaned forward in her chair to stare at him.

He shouldā€™ve known she was just waiting for him to relax before she went for the jugular. Yet why did he feel ambushed? Kimberley did her due diligence to dig up what heā€™d been doing in those eighteen years, which is what any good reporter would do. Even an entertainment reporter could sniff out a breaking news story.

Taking a deep breath, Kip pursed his lips, trying to decide what he could say. It wasnā€™t like he wanted to lie about his past or being gay. Neither part of his life was a secret he wanted to keep. He knew a lot of people would think he became a druggie because he was ashamed of being gay, but it was simply the fact that he was young, bored, and fucking rich. There wasnā€™t anyone to stop him when he made the left turn straight into the abyss of chasing the dragon.

ā€œYou know, Kimberley, if you wanted to know about that time in my life, you couldā€™ve asked me straight out. No need to lull me into a false sense of security. Iā€™m not hiding that part of my past.ā€

ā€œThen why hasnā€™t there been any mention of it before in any of the interviews youā€™ve done since you returned to Hollywood?ā€ She folded her arms over her chest, looking like she didnā€™t completely believe him.

He laughed. ā€œBecause no one asked. Trust me, honey. Iā€™m not interested in hiding anything. Not when doing so would damage my image, and what Iā€™m going to tell you will make me more of a hero to all those kids who might look up to me.ā€

Kimberley sighed, and Kip couldnā€™t tell if it was because sheā€™d heard the same ā€˜I have nothing to hideā€™ from other stars or because she liked his smile. He didnā€™t really care whichever one it was.

ā€œI went into rehab two years ago because I was addicted to H and coke. Iā€™ve learned not to be ashamed of the craving that strung me out to the point where the only living I was doing was when I was coming down from a high. Pain and need were the only emotions strong enough to convince me that I still existed in this shitty world going on around me.ā€

Kip fidgeted with the silverware on the table while he remembered the agony of going through detox. Letting go of the knife, he ran his fingers over his sleeve, feeling the bumps of the needle scars. The make-up people on the lot had a hard time covering them during the shoot, yet he never considered seeing if he could do anything about making them less obvious. They helped him remember where heā€™d been and just how far heā€™d fallen.

ā€œWhen did you start using?ā€ Kimberley shifted in her chair, a hint of excitement on her face.

Yes, she was getting a scoop, though it wasnā€™t anything Kip considered earth shattering.

ā€œYou know, this isnā€™t big news. There are a thousand stars who found themselves addicted to drugs or alcohol. Iā€™m nothing new.ā€ Kip had to point it out.

ā€œTrue, but youā€™re the apple of Hollywoodā€™s eye right now and youā€™re quite a mystery. A child star who disappears off the radar for eighteen years, then makes good when he returns to the movies.ā€ She winked at him. ā€œI need to capitalize on your popularity to help my career.ā€

At least she was honest.

ā€œI started drinking when I was ten or eleven. Hell, it didnā€™t matter to a lot of people as long as they got to hang with me. Which sounds weird and pathetic, but there you go. Any notoriety is good for some people.ā€ Kip shook his head when he thought about all the people in his entourage when he was younger. Not one of them tried to stop him either. As long as he was paying for everything, it was fine.
