Last Day of 2012….

federer

Not sure if I shared this with you before, but this is a picture my husband took while he was at the Olympics this year. Since Federer is my favorite tennis player, I thought I’d share it. I think for this match, my husband was at Centre Court, three rows off the actual court. Pretty nice, huh?

I can’t believe today is the last day of 2012. Crazy. Where the heck did this year go? When I look back on it, it wasn’t the best year of my life for personal reasons, but it wasn’t the worse year. I can deal with the personal crap, and move on. 🙂

I’ve had a few new books out this year, along with some re-releases. I still have a few re-releases coming out in 2013, but there will be more new books out. I promise…the biggest ones will be the last two Home books, Leaving Home and Home Sweet Home. You’ve all been so patient waiting for them, and I hope they live up to your expectations.

I’m hoping to get Rover’s story done in 2013, along with the next Diner story and the third Why I Love book. Maybe even do the next Earth Warrior as well. Plus I’m working on a special project with an awesome writer, but I’m not going to say anything more than that right now. 🙂

I hope you all have a safe New Year’s Eve, and I hope 2012 has been kind to you.

To everyone who voted. No matter who you voted for, at least you practiced one of the rights that makes America great. You got to help chose who leads our country for the next four years.

Also, thank you to Maryland and Maine. You helped move this country forward in the right direction, giving everyone equal rights to marry who they want and to not be treated as second class citizens. Now I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Washington and Minnesota will go along the same path.

I’m going to be doing some writing later on today. I’m going to volunteer at my local museum for a couple hours, helping decorate for their big Holiday party. 🙂

Have a great day, everyone.

Stop by later on today.

Unfortunately, the edits I needed to get done yesterday, and I didn’t have time to get the next installment of the blog story done. I plan on working on it first thing this morning. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it done and posted for you by this afternoon. If not, it’ll definitely be up tomorrow. 🙂

Sorry about not having it up on time. I hate being late for this. 🙁

Please keep everyone who was and is in the path of Sandy in your thoughts. Also, all the first responders who had to deal with so many emergencies during the storm. And all those people traveling to the East Coast to help with the clean0up. All of them are heroes in my opinion.

Quick note

We had to take our puppy into the emergency vet last night around 1…and we just picked him up a few minutes ago. He’s doing well, but he ate some stuff that he shouldn’t have last night, so he’d been throwing up and not drinking.

But like I said, he’s doing fine this morning, but we’re all going back to bed for a while…lol.

Cynthia, I think you were the one who asked about Amber Allure. I’m still with them…just haven’t finished any new stories for them. But the steampunk story I’m working on at the moment is for them, and I have a couple more almost finished that I just have to find the time to complete before I send to them. 🙂 So don’t worry…there are a few series there that I want to finish up.

I hope you all have a great Monday. And those in the path of Hurricane Sandy, please stay as safe as possible. I’ll be thinking of you all.

Back in Country

This was spray painted on the side of the embankment for the Seine River in Paris. I thought it was a great thought. 🙂

My trip was marvelous and I had lots of fun in London, Paris, and Scotland. I thought I’d share some photos over the next couple of weeks. 🙂

Don’t worry though. Threadbare Gypsy Souls will continue tomorrow with the next installment. I still have to write it, but it’ll be there.  I promise. In between doing the laundry and trying to get the rest of my life sorted out, I’ll be working on it…lol.

I missed everyone. I hope you had a great August, and I can’t believe we’re already staring down September. Where the hell did the summer go?

Have a great day, everyone. It’s good to be home.

Sorry…

I had some more personal things come up this week. I’m going to try and get you the installments for the blog story on Thursday and Friday. Please bear with me. 🙂

Some Eye Candy

Charlie Hunnam is very nice eye candy and a good actor. I love him as Jackson on Sons of Anarchy. 🙂  I thought he’d be a great way to perk up a dreary day.

Okay, so I mentioned a while ago that I’d been working out and trying to eat right. I had a few extra pounds I wanted to get rid of and some toning up to do as well. I’ve lost 15 lbs. since February, and I know I’ve lost inches everywhere since none of my jeans fit me anymore. But I’m not going to break down and buy new stuff because I have another 16 pounds I’d like to get rid of before I’m completely happy, though actually if I get another 10 pounds off, I wouldn’t complain. I’ve discovered I like going to the gym and working out, and I don’t feel right if I miss a day. 🙂 I have admit though, some days it’s tough to get up the motivation to go.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by to check out my ramblings. I know most of the time, it isn’t the most stimulating conversation…lol

Hop Against Homophobia

Today starts the Hop Against Homophobia. There are over 250 blogs involved, and most of them are offering prizes for your comments. But mostly what the hop is about is bringing awareness to the pervasive discrimination against a certain group of people in society. Normally I avoid political talk on my blog. Mostly because I’m not naive enough to believe that just because you read my books, you share all my same views. We’re all different in subtle and not so subtle ways, and that’s what makes this world so exciting and marvelous.

Yet I hope the one thing we can all agree on is that everyone has the right to their own happiness. As long as it doesn’t infringe or hurt others, then they have the right to be considered equal to me in every way. It shouldn’t matter who they love or who they want to marry. All that should matter is that they’re striving to be the best human beings they can be, regardless of sexual orientation. I’ve never understood hating someone because they’re different from you. Life would be terribly boring if we were all the same.

I’m sorry if my post isn’t that profound or earth shattering. I tend to look on equality for everyone as a no-brainer. And yet I understand that people struggle with it every minute of the day. I just hope we all become enlightened at some point in our journey through life.

I’m giving away a book from my backlist to two lucky commenters today. If I pick you, and you already have all my backlist, you can pick one of my up-coming releases. You’ll just have to wait until I get my author copies before you can get your prize.

Also, if you’d like to see who else is participating in the Hop, check out the Hop Against Homophobia blog.

And if you’ve stopped by for the next installment in They Walk Among Us, it’ll be up tomorrow. 😀

World Autism Awareness Day

Today is World Autism Awareness Day…and while I don’t have an autistic child in my immediate family, I have friends who do. The numbers of children being diagnosed with autism is going up in an alarming number, whether it’s just more doctors willing to diagnose it or more children being born with it.

April has started. Wow…where did the first three months of this year go? 🙂

I’m going to be writing as much as possible this next week. I’m heading to Chicago for Romantic Times convention on the 9th. Woot! Can’t wait to see everyone.

Well, have a great day. 🙂

Sometimes Real Life can be a Pain

I’m thinking maybe I should go away for the weekend. Lock myself in a hotel room and see how much writing I can get done in three days time. it certainly doesn’t seem to be working at home, even though I’m usually alone during the day. Too many other things are getting in the way.

so the next installment of the blog story will be up tomorrow. And i’m going to do my darnedest to get some more written on Tramps as well.

I hope you all have a great day.
