Pimping Books..

First up, we have Miss Lila Dubois’ wonderful paranormal, Sealed With A Kiss. This is Lila’s second book and is great. I got to read this book right after it finished. I really think Lila should be writing comtemporaries (romantic comedy) as well as her fantasies.

Check out Lila’s site as well for her upcoming books.

Next up is Red Garnier’s book, Villian out at Loose-Id. It actually came out last week and I completely forgot about pimping it. Sorry Red. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love the cover and the story is deliciously dark.

Check out Red’s site for more information on her other books.

And to answer Red’s question she asked about where I’m going to sub Vanguard, more than likely it’ll head off to Liquid Silver who is my main publisher now. Though I’m branching out and might have good news soon about another story. ๐Ÿ™‚

Got some writing done last night. Go me. lol

Hope everyone has a great Friday and a wonderful Labor Day weekend if I don’t post anything this weekend.

Pimping Friday….

Yes, I know I’ve already pimped Emily’s books, but as far as I’m concerned, you can never have too much of a good thing, right? So I’m going to tell you about her newest book, Father of Dragons, out now at Samhain. Now, I’ll run thirty miles out of my way to avoid any book that even hints at male pregnancy…lol. But this story is different in so many ways. ๐Ÿ™‚ Highly recommend it..especially if you like fantasy stories and don’t mind if your main character just happens to be gay.

Click here to visit Emily’s site.

My next book I’d like to pimp today is Laura Bacchi’s dragon shifter story, Any Ordinary Day. It’s available at Loose-Id. Laura writes m/f stories as well, but I haven’t read those. I’ve read one of her other m/m stories from Amber Quill and enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read more about her dragons..which she does say she’s working on a sequel or two. ๐Ÿ™‚

Click here to visit Laura’s site.

And both covers were done by the marvelous, awesome cover goddess, Anne Cain. ๐Ÿ™‚

Other than that, I’m going to try and type my fingers into nubs and get some stories done. I have a couple close to being finished…just need that extra push to get there.

Have a wonderful Friday, everyone.

Guest: Stephanie Vaughan

Welcome, Stephanie. Great to have you stop by and answer a few questions. Here’s the link for Off World 2: Sanctuary, available now at Torquere Press. I had a chance to read this and it’s a great story. ๐Ÿ™‚

1. What made you decide to write m/m romances? What, besides the obvious, attracted you to that type of story?
My crit partner had been slipping in subliminal suggestions for months, or maybe years. I wrote a f/m/m story and like the two guys togther so much that my next one was m/m and I never looked back.
And besides the fact that it’s freaking hot, you mean, right? The underdog, against-all-odds aspect appeals to me. People overcoming barriers and obstacles for the sake of love is always powerful. The notion that we’re all people underneath it all and that everyone feels and deserves love seems to find its way into anything I write.

2. Are they still being chased? Will we ever find out what happened with the info they sent off?
Presuming you mean the guys from OW and OW2, the authorities would love to get their hands on them, for a variety of reasons. As for what happpend with the information, I always figured that things probably played out the way the men talked about toward the end of OW. I’m working on ideas for OW3, and I think there might very well be a confrontation with their old enemies in that one.

3. Was Dave left behind after Cal took him down in the alley?
Oh, yeah, Dave survived. He even makes a brief appearance in OW2. I’m not sure he made it out of OW2 alive, though. I haven’t been able to figure that part out as yet.

4. Half the crew is gay? Does that mean more than just a book 2?
I’ve got ideas and characters just keep appearing that would make great heroes for their own books. There are some free OW-related stories on my site that have some characters that have only appeared briefly, but who practically jumped off the page at me. Torquere just put out a call for stories for an upcoming anthology that gave me a great idea for a short bit featuring Jimi Vilnius, one of the guys from the crew.
I know I said half the crew is gay, but between you, me and the fencepost, I’m having trouble naming anyone as the token straight guy on board.

5. What’s your favorite guilty pleasure? (Mine is watching Serenity every chance I can get…lol)
I don’t know what you mean–nothing that came from the mind of Joss Whedon could ever be anything but a total pleasure. We have the entire TV show (“Firefly”) on DVD, as well as the movie, and we watch them all the time. At least an episode per week. We’re pretty much the geek family and we never miss an episode of “Mythbusters,” although I’m probably the only one in the room perving on Grant Imahara.
But to answer your question, as far as guilty pleasures go, I guess I’d have to say watching old Backstreet Boys videos. They’re all just so darned cute and anyone who says they wouldn’t do Nick Carter in a heartbeat is damn liar.

6. What’s next for you?
After all the angst in OW2, I wanted to lighten up a little bit, so I’m working on a story with a couple of horny college guys. I need a real title for it, but my code name for it is “Dorm Porn” and it’s a lot of fun. One of the guys is half-Asian and sounds suspiciously like a certain Discovery Channel TV show cast member, so it gives me an excuse to watch something I’d be watching anyway. Always with the research.

Thank you! So I guess we’re going to draw a name for a download of OW2?

Yep, Stephanie is right. We’re going to draw a name from the people who post a comment here to win a download of OW2. Hope everyone enjoyed the interview. Have a great day.

Pimping Books…

Demon Hunting is another hot read from Lisa Andel is available now at Liquid Silver Books. It’s part of her Orion Authority series, but is the first book in a sub-series.

Stop by Lisa’s website to learn all about the Orion Authority and the many books she has planned for them. Also check out the other books she has available. All of them are hot, sexy and awesome…lol.

Oh and put your thinking caps on because I’m looking for questions to ask Stephanie Vaughan. Her newest release, Off World 2 is coming out next Wednesday, August 22nd. I’m posting an interview with her that day and she’s giving away a copy of OW2. I’d love to have you give me some questions to ask her. So post any you think of in the comment section for me.

C and I are going away for the weekend. So I won’t be around until late Sunday night. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Pimping Books…

I like this cover. ๐Ÿ™‚ I picked up the book at Torquere Press on Wednesday. Animal Attraction is an anthology of stories featuring animals, but not shapeshifters or anything like that. Just regular animals that help bring men together. The stories were pretty good.

There’s a book at Loose-Id I’ve been looking at. I like the cover, but I’m not completely sold on the story. Venom’s Bond is the book. If any of you have picked it up and read it already, please let me know what you thought of it. I guess more than anything it’s the content warning that makes me hesitate. It sounds like it’s a very intense story and I’m not quite in the mood yet to read that type of story. So I’m going to put it on my to-buy list and I’ll pick it up when I’m in the mood. But I’d still like to hear your opinions, if you’ve read it.

I’ve been doing my level best to finish The Vanguard. To answer Gina’s question from yesterday’s comments, I’ll probably end the story on the blog first, though at the rate I’m writing, the expanded version might just be finished before the blog story. I’m going to work on it this weekend to see how far I can get.

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Pimping Books…

Read My Fair Captain by J.L. Langley over the weekend. I enjoyed it. An interesting twist on both regency books and futuristics. I really enjoyed and I hope there will be more books with not only these two main characters, but with the other brothers from Aiden’s family.

Also, Anne Cain and Barbara Sheridan have a new book out at Liquid Silver. Silk and Poison looks like an intriguing story set in a time period we don’t read a lot about. It definitely sounds dark though, so if you’re not into really dark stories, this might not be the one for you. But stop by and read the blurb. You just might be tempted. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have it on my ‘pile’ to read this weekend.

Have a great Friday everyone. I’m going to try and keep cool. ๐Ÿ™‚

Pimping Friday….

I read a bunch of books yesterday. I know, bad me…lol. I should have been writing, but I wanted to catch up on some of the books that have come out.

Faith is the fourth in Jet Mykles’ Heaven Sent series. I enjoyed it and I like the cover as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ummm…oh finally got to read Ally Blue’s Fireflies. Wonderful as always.

Read a couple others, but I’ll talk about those at another time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Not much going on today, so I’m hoping to sneak in a little writing.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

Wednesday’s WiPs

Yes, Wednesday are reserved for letting everyone know how I’m doing on my word count for the stories I’m working on, but I thought I’d start by letting everyone know that Lisa Andel has a new book out today at Ellora’s Cave. Flame Angel is hot…hot…hot. (Like all of Lisa’s books…lol) *It’s not up for buying yet on EC’s site, so just check back a little later*

Also, Emily Veinglory has a new novella out at Torquere Press. It’s in The Call, edited by Rob Knight about werewolves. Jourdan Lane and BA Tortuga have stories in there as well. I’ll be picking that one up. Looks good. (I’ve given you the link to the pdf file, but it’s also available in other formats and print as well)

Okay, for what you’ve all come to find out. (Or maybe not, but I like to think you really do care to know how much I’ve slaved away on my stories. *wink*)

Without further ado, here we go:

Home of his Own: 27,431/50,000 (for a total of 2,839 words written since last Wednesday)

The Vanguard: 43,329/55,000 (for a total of 2,867 words since last Wednesday)

The Gypsy Devil: 13,477/50,000 (for a total of 164 words since last Wednesday)

That gives me 5,870 words in a week. Not great at all, but still that doesn’t take into account what I’ve written on a new vampyre story and a western I started. Those are written in a journal I keep and won’t be typed in until I’m ready to start working on them. The three listed here are the ones I’m focusing most of my attention on. As you can see, I’m closest to finishing The Vanguard. ๐Ÿ™‚

Still haven’t heard anything about Out of Bounds or Understanding Forgiveness. Those are two stories floating around out in limbo. I’ll admit it drives me crazy having books done and out there that there’s nothing concrete I can tell you about. ๐Ÿ™ But I’m sure it won’t be long and you’ll be the first to know.

Have a great Wednesday.

Wednesday’s WiPs

So this pic has nothing to do with my post today…lol. I just love it. ๐Ÿ™‚ And thought I’d share it with everyone. I believe it can be found at this site, BeautifulMag.com

First thing, Ally Blue has a new book out, Fireflies, from Samhain. I’m pimping it today, even though I haven’t read it yet. Mostly because it’s Ally Blue and I haven’t read one of hers I haven’t liked. And because Anne Cain created the awesome cover for it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve decided that Wednesdays are going to be my update days. When I give you actual word counts, so you can see how much I’m getting done on different stories. Some weeks there won’t be any change. Other weeks there will be big changes. But this is also to keep me focused on the stories as well.

So, here’s the three I’m working on at the moment. (You’ll also notice that the stories themselves will change as I get stuck on one I might start working on a new one.)

Home of his Own (Tony’s story): 24,592/50,000

The Vanguard: 40,462/55,000

The Gypsy Devil: 13,313/50,000

I set myself a goal of 50k for each of my stories. It doesn’t matter to me if I go over that mark, but I don’t want to be too far under it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

Pimping Books…

So I’m really just pimping one particular book today. I haven’t read anything else by Jodi Payne. I did read Founder yesterday and enjoyed it. If anyone else has read anything by this author, maybe you can let us know what you thought about her stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also read Drew Zachary’s second installment in his Jerhico Jones Chaser series at Torquere. I’m enjoying both heroes.

Oh and guess what? Ms. Stephanie Vaughan, whose books I pimped last Friday, was gracious enough to give me a sneak peek of her second Off World book. Let me tell you, you don’t want to miss it. If you enjoyed the first book, definitely pick up the second. Which will be available August 22nd. woo-hoo! I’ll remind you all when we get closer to that date.

Hmm…what else? I’ve been hard at work on several books. I should really focus on just one, but I’m getting inspired to work on at least four different books at once. Ugh! lol

Well, have a nice Friday. ๐Ÿ™‚
