Happy Wednesday

Well, yesterday was quite an exciting day here in America. Whether you voted for President Obama or not, you couldn’t help but get swept up in the occasion. All those people watching history being made. 🙂 Here’s to the new President and his cabinet…may you make good decisions and keep us safe.

I’ll have more good news soon. Just waiting on the official paperwork…lol. I’m one of those people who doesn’t like to say anything until all the ‘i’s have been dotted and the ‘t’s have been crossed. Don’t want to jinx anything.

My stories are coming along. I got a good amount written yesterday since I took the day off. 🙂

Hope you all have a great day.

One More Minute…

I love you beyond words,
Beyond any ability for
My tongue to say.

I need you beyond thought,
Beyond any chance of
Being independent anymore.

You stole my heart
When I wasn’t looking
And hid it away.

You gave me yours
In return to keep
Forever and a day.

Each day I forget
You weren’t always
With me.

And every minute
I pray for just one
More to spend with you.

Happy Wednesday

Happy very cold Wednesday to everyone. I hope all of you are somewhere nice and warm (even if it’s just inside your house or at work and not like the lucky ones who live in warmer parts of the world. lol)

All that talk yesterday about Louis L’Amour made me go to Amazon and check their Kindle store. Woo-hoo! They have a bunch of L’Amour books available for the Kindle. I’m going to go on a shopping spree, I think, once I get another two books written. I used to own almost all of L’Amour’s books in paperback, but through several moves and fits of cleaning, I’ve gotten rid of all of them. Stupid. But this way, I get them in ebook form and they won’t take up any actual space except on my hard drive. Yay!

Writing is going well for adding to Nick of Time. Get about 1k done a day which is good right now. Things have sort of stalled on His Heart’s Home, but I’m not too worried about it. As soon as I get Nick done, I’ll dive into HHH and finish it up.

Oh I have a question, if you want to take the time to answer it. Just curosity more than anything else. An author friend of mine and I were tossing around ideas for a ‘sweet’ m/m romance series. It was going to be an inspirational series revolving around a certain church, but it’s evolved into a simple ‘sweet’ romance. I was wondering if you would be interested in reading the stories. We have a publisher interested in at least looking at them and deadlines set already for us to finish them.

Let me know what you think about the idea. 🙂

Hope you all have a great Wednesday. Stay inside and warm as much as possible.

What I’m Looking for…

Arms to hold me tight.
Lips to kiss and taste.
A body to warm me.
A smile to brighten my day.

A mind both brilliant and crude.
A soul both pure and soiled.
A heart both kind and cruel.
A love both lasting and fleeting.

TGIF

I’m so glad it’s the weekend…or close to it. Only 8 more hours of work before two days off. 🙂 Too bad about the work because I won’t have any time to sneak in any writing today except for lunch…lol. Darn it. Don’t they understand I need to write?

I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Happy Wednesday

Hey, it’s the middle of the week already…lol. 🙂 That’s great except we’re having snow here. Yuck! I’m ready for spring and summer to come along.

Writing is going well. I finished and subbed Tabloid Star. First book subbed in 2009. Woo-hoo! Now I have to finish His Heart’s Home and Nick of Time before I start anything else. I have a bunch of stories lined up to work on this entire year, so we’ll see how fast I can get them done and submitted to my publishers.

Don’t forget, if you haven’t seen it yet, Hearts Afire: January, featuring my story Where the Devil Dances, is available at Liquid Silver Books now. 🙂

And if you’re visiting for the first time as well, I want to remind everyone that if you’re sign up for my newsletter, you’ll be entered in a monthly contest I have. I drew a name on Monday for the fireman’s calendar. On Feb. 17th, I’ll be drawing a new name for a different prize package…which includes a beautiful necklace and matching bracelet, an autographed copy of No Going Home and a few extra items that go with my upcoming release, High Line (which will be out on Feb. 17th.)

Hmmm…well, I think I’ve done enough rambling. Enjoy the eye candy and stay warm for those in the North. 🙂 Have a great day.

Happy Friday

Hearts Afire: January will be available Jan. 5th (next Monday) at around 6-7 pm. Mark your calanders…lol.

Nothing real exciting to report today…lol. I plan on hanging out and doing some writing if I can. I’m only two or three chapters away from finishing Tabloid Star. When it’s done, I’ll send it off to my beta reader and critique partners. I’ll also set it aside for a day or two. Then I’ll go back, re-read to make sure I didn’t screw anything up, write up a synopsis and submit it. Then it’s on to His Heart’s Home to get that done. After HHH, it’ll be Nick of Time. Once Nick is done, I’ll add another three stories to the schedule and get cracking on them.

I keep track of every word I write each day. My goal is to do 2k each day. Some days I’m lucky and can get 2k done on one story. Other days, my 2k might be spread out between two or three stories, but I figure as long as I’m writing, it’s all good. At the end of the week and then at the end of the month, I add up all the totals to get one big total. At the end of the year, I add all the monthly totals up to get the yearly total. And now that your eyes have crossed and you wonder why does that matter to you? To be honest, it doesn’t…lol. I’m just babbling. I thought December would be a slow month for me since on Christmas Eve and Christmas, I didn’t do any writing at all. Imagine my surprise when I added it up and realize I wrote 69k in Dec. alone. Wow…my biggest monthly word total ever. (at least since I started keeping track of it…) And my yearly total was 343,866 words in 2008 which down slightly from last year. J

The only goal I set for myself each year is to have one more book out than I did the year before. I’ve beat that goal already by having five books scheduled for release in the first five months of the year. Now I’ll see how many I can get out this year and then completely freak about trying to meet that same goal for 2010…lol.

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Day. Have a great weekend as well.

Poetry Train #84

Untitled…

Tears rained from Heaven
Dreams dripped from clouds
Need came from hearts
Want came from souls.

Who did I think I was
That I could want you so badly
What was I looking for

Was I looking for someone
To accept me
Was I looking for someone
To hold me.

Was I need strength to live

That was what I was lacking
The strength to continue
To live with the flaws
That were me

I didn’t think anyone
Would have me
I didn’t understand that
God knew me.

He understood all my
Doubts and flaws
He loved me and
Knew that there was
Someone for me.

That someone was you.
You took me in your arms
You loved me without
Thought or doubt.
You understood my tears
And held me.

So now I don’t question
God about my life
Because He gave me
You.

Merry Christmas Eve…

So here we are…another Christmas Eve. Wow…this year has gone by so fast. 🙂 I hope everyone has a great day and night.

I said that I’d be giving you two new blurbs to pick from…not just today, but I’ll let everyone comment until next Monday when I’ll figure out which one is the most popular and start working on it.

Blurb #1: (paranormal, shifter)

Bastet-

Kellan Largent is a grad student at Harvard. His thesis is on ancient Egyptian religious cults. While immersed in his research, he comes across an obscure reference to the Earth Warrior cult. Little does he know that one sentence in a dusty tattered book will engulf him in a battle between good and evil. A battle that could be the end of the world as he knows it.

The stray cat wandering the streets around Kellan’s house is more than an abandoned feline. Bastet has roamed the earth from the days when Egypt was young. He’s watched the Pharaohs rise and fall. New gods come and go. His purpose has remained the same: Protect the earth at all costs and keep the secrets of the Earth Warriors from regular mortals. He’s sent to keep Kellan Largent from finding out the truth about the cult, but also to keep the unsuspecting college student alive.

One man will do anything for the spell that created the Warriors. He wants immortality and killing Kellan for the secret is just the beginning of the trouble he’ll cause to get what he wants.

Blurb #2 (historical, western)

Bitter Creek’s Redemption-

Bitter Creek is a town on the brink of war.

Lines are being drawn and sides taken as two powerful men gather armies of gunfighters. The townspeople are helpless and the law worthless. One man has already died in the opening salvo of this land war. An air of fearful anticipation hangs over the town.

Eagle, the half-breed who works at the livery stable, manages to survive by not taking sides until one day, a stranger rides into town. Eagle’s life changes and he finds that he can no longer hide with his horses, if he wishes to be the man he claims to be.

A stranger comes to town and all hell breaks lose.

Hope you find something you like in either of these two blurbs. 🙂 Have a great and safe day.

Pleasure

Warm touch
Gentle caress
Soft words
Breaking my heart.

Your smile from
Across the room
Hits me in the chest
And I remember
How you looked at me
As you told me you
Were leaving.

Warm touch
Gentle caress
Soft words
Breaking my heart.

You’d found someone else
To treat you the way you wanted
To give you things
You think you deserve
And worship at your feet
Like I couldn’t,
Not without sacrificing
My self-respect.

Warm touch
Gentle caress
Soft words
Breaking my heart.

No more wishing
I could be what you wanted
I let you go and
Turned my face toward
A brighter life
And a stronger love
Without losing myself.
