New Coming Soon

Now this would be a pretty cover, don’t you think? šŸ™‚ But unfortunately, it isn’t…lol

I signed a contract with Samhain over the weekend for a new book. No release date yet, but as usual, as soon as I find out, I’ll let everyone know. This book was inspired by two pictures one of my friends posted. And Jambrea, this book is all yours…lol..tattoos and a lot of licking. šŸ˜€

Here’s the unedited blurb for Tabloid Star. I’m sure it’ll be slightly different when it comes out.

Can a one-night stand turn into love?

As a bartender at the Lucky Seven club, Joss Bauer has the opportunity to take a guy home every night if he wishes. Working three jobs makes it difficult to connect with anyone at more than a superficial level. Then one night he picks a guy up and takes him home. When the man is gone in the morning, Joss believes nothing will come of it. Until pictures show up on the front page of a tabloid and he finds out his one-night stand wasn’t who he thought he was.

Ryan Kellar’s career is taking off. Advance buzz about his movie says it’s a block-buster, so he goes to the Lucky Seven to celebrate. Going home with the gorgeous bartender is his present, but he leaves in the morning before Joss is awake, not wanting to risk being discovered. He’s shocked and angry when pictures of him and Joss together surface. Had Joss played him for a fool?

Each man has his own problems to deal with resulting from the tabloid pictures. Can they figure out who took them and learn to trust each other as their worlds fall apart?

I can’t wait for you all to meet Joss and Ryan. On Friday, I’ll post the pictures I used for inspiration for the guys. šŸ™‚

Have a great day.

Happy President’s Day

I know you will all be stopping by to check out my newest attempt at poetry, but unfortunately I had a really busy weekend…lol..and didn’t have any time to write anything.

But if you want to read an oldie, but a goodie, I posted something at SEx (the Liquid Silver Blog).

Also, if you don’t have anything to do tonight, Dana Marie Bell and I are having a chat tonight at the Samhain Cafe from 8-10 pm. We’ll be chatting about our books coming out tomorrow. Woo-hoo!

Remember, I won’t be posting an installment of Bitter Creek’s Redemption tomorrow. Part Fifteen will be posted on Wednesday. šŸ™‚

Hope you all have a great day and I’ll try to be more on the ball tomorrow.

Happy Friday the 13th

Do you believe in the bad luck and weird things that are supposed to happen on Friday the 13th? I’m not sure I do, but at times, it does seem like the really odd stuff happens on this day. šŸ™‚ Of course, I have a black cat cross my path tons of times when I’m at home and nothing bad has happened to me yet. šŸ˜‰

Happy Valentine’s Day as well. I hope it’s a wonderful day for everyone.

I also wanted to give everyone a heads-up. Next week, the Tuesday installment of Bitter Creek will be on Wednesday. High Line comes out next Tuesday and I’ll be posting an excerpt to entice you. lol…though I do hope you all were planning on picking it up at some point.

Have a great day, everyone. Stay safe and warm.

Wave Interviewed Me…

Hey everyone, Wave interviewed me for her Author of the Week feature. Stop by and find out all you might want to know about me. Or ask me questions if you have a question I didn’t answer. šŸ™‚

Hope you all have a great Wednesday. And I do think that tomorrow’s installment will be a NSFW post.

Poetry Train #90

Eyes

Dark eyes peering from behind a fringe of black hair, he meets my gaze with a grin. The tilt of his head and the movement of his hips entice me closer. I reach out, trailing my fingers over his shoulder and down his chest, ending at the waist of his jeans. Hooking my finger in a belt loop, I tug him closer. His arms settle around my waist and I nuzzle his neck, breathing in the salty scent of sweat and male. Our bodies rock and rub to the driving beat of the music filling the club we dance in. He sighs, leaning into me, and I know, I’ll be going home with him tonight.

Don’t forget to stop by my editor’s blog for today’s contest.

Theme Songs

One of my readers asked me about the music I listen to as I’m writing or even if I listen to music at all. The answer is yes and all kinds. I don’t usually have a specific playlist for each book. What I have are theme songs for them. One or two songs that I play that helps me capture the mood of the story or what I’m trying to say. Sometimes, the song might not seem to have anything to do with the story, but there is a line or two that fits. I thought I’d give you the songs that I’ve decided could be used as theme songs for each of my books (except for the anthology stories…lol)

Faith…

Fingers twine with fingers

Lips brush over lips

Teeth tease and bite.

Skin rubs on skin

Body presses against body

Breath mingles and warms.

Arms locked with arms

Hips grind into hips

Essence blends with essences.

I have never seen you,

Yet I know you exist.

The conviction of my heart gives me faith.

I have never heard you,

Yet I know you love me.

The evidence is in your touch.

TGIF

I’ve been thinking all morning about what to blog about today and nothing’s come to me…lol.

Oh wait…brain storm…lmao. I’m listening to Seven Spanish Angels at the moment, sung by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles. Have you ever heard a song that would make a great story, but since it doesn’t have a particularly happy ending, there’s no way you could write it for public consumption? lol. I mean it’s a great song and would make a great Western (of course with a m/m twist), but the song itself doesn’t have a happy ending for the lovers die in the end. *you really need to listen to the song…one of my all-time favorites* As a writing excerise for myself, I might write the story I see in my mind every time I hear the song and see if a happier ending would work with the story or if it worked best with the ending it has.

One of my regular blog readers asked if I had certain songs that go with certain stories. I do and I’m going to put together a blog post aobut that for a Wednesday or Friday…maybe next week.

Writing is going well. No major road blocks or anything. Thank God…lol.

I hope you all have a great weekend. šŸ™‚

P.S. I posted an excerpt at SiN for Death or Life. Stop by and check it out.

Poetry Train #88

I thought I’d give you a little peek at Ghost of a Chance, my March release from Loose-Id. I’m starting edits this week, so this excerpt is unedited. Just so you all know, in case it’s a little rough around the edges. šŸ™‚

Here’s the blurb:

Padraig Monaghan has a problem. Most would consider dying in a bar fight ten years ago upsetting, and existing as a ghost wandering the world might be thought a real predicament. They might deem a second chance at life through a chance encounter with a dying man a serious dilemma. But for Padraig, finding himself face to face with the man he’d loved and lost a lifetime ago is the biggest thing on his mind.

Gareth Reilly stops at O’Toole’s for a drink before he heads home. Tomorrow’s going to be another lonely birthday for him until he’s approached by a stranger. There’s something about Padraig’s bright green eyes and Irish accent that reminds Gareth of a man he once knew. Unable to resist, Gareth breaks his cardinal rule and invites Padraig home.

On St. Patrick’s Day, when Irish magic is strongest, it’ll take a belief in the impossible and help from a grateful elf to give Padraig and Gareth another chance at love.

Excerpt:

Surprised at his boldness, Gareth takes a sip of his drink. Any other man who had ever hit on him using a tired old line like that would have seen the back of Gareth’s head as he walked away. What was it about this man that made Gareth willing to break his own rules?

ā€œThank you.ā€ The man held out his hand. ā€œI’m Padraig Burns.ā€

ā€œGareth Reilly.ā€ He shook Padraig’s hand and enjoyed the shiver of attraction skating over his nerves to pool in his groin.

ā€œHow long have you been in Boston, Gareth?ā€ Padraig sprawled in the chair rather clumsily like he wasn’t used to having limbs to put places.

Gareth wasn’t always the most graceful, so he ignored Padraig’s flopping. ā€œFour years. You haven’t been here long since you still sound like a homegrown son of Erie.ā€

ā€œI’ve only just arrived in town, but it’s been ten years since I left Ireland. I just don’t have much call to talk to many people and I’ve never gotten to the point where I want to lose my accent. It’s a part of home for me since I’ve moved.ā€ Padraig ran his finger around the top of his glass.

Frowning, Gareth remembered being at a party and seeing Paddy Monaghan doing the same thing. Maybe it was being St. Patrick’s Day or the color of Padraig’s eyes or simply the fact that he felt lonely even after being in Boston for four years. He didn’t understand the urge he had to talk to this stranger.

ā€œHow does a man who looks like a California beach bum get an Irish accent?ā€ He waved the waitress over and ordered another drink. ā€œWould you like another one?ā€

ā€œOh God yes.ā€ Padraig sighed.

He laughed at the fervent tone in Padraig’s voice. ā€œI take it you haven’t had a good Irish whiskey in a while.ā€

ā€œIn a decade.ā€ A rueful smile crossed Padraig’s face. ā€œHaven’t had a lot of things in ten years.ā€

ā€œWhy is that?ā€

ā€œSame reason I look like a surfer but speak like a dock worker, I guess. I’ve been wandering the world and being invisible doesn’t help. It tends to make it difficult to talk to people.ā€ Padraig didn’t look up when the waitress set their drinks down.

Gareth couldn’t stop his laughter from bursting out. ā€œInvisible? Are you serious? There’s no way a hot guy like you could ever be invisible.ā€

An intriguing blush dusted Padraig’s cheeks and Gareth had the odd urge to brush his thumb over those high cheekbones.

ā€œCome on. You can’t tell me you don’t know how totally gorgeous you are.ā€

Padraig shrugged, fingering the glass in front of him. ā€œAt times when I look in the mirror, it’s like I don’t recognize the face staring back at me.ā€
