TGIF

I’ve been thinking all morning about what to blog about today and nothing’s come to me…lol.

Oh wait…brain storm…lmao. I’m listening to Seven Spanish Angels at the moment, sung by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles. Have you ever heard a song that would make a great story, but since it doesn’t have a particularly happy ending, there’s no way you could write it for public consumption? lol. I mean it’s a great song and would make a great Western (of course with a m/m twist), but the song itself doesn’t have a happy ending for the lovers die in the end. *you really need to listen to the song…one of my all-time favorites* As a writing excerise for myself, I might write the story I see in my mind every time I hear the song and see if a happier ending would work with the story or if it worked best with the ending it has.

One of my regular blog readers asked if I had certain songs that go with certain stories. I do and I’m going to put together a blog post aobut that for a Wednesday or Friday…maybe next week.

Writing is going well. No major road blocks or anything. Thank God…lol.

I hope you all have a great weekend. πŸ™‚

P.S. I posted an excerpt at SiN for Death or Life. Stop by and check it out.

When I did research for my thesis I discovered that many authors made playlists of music that go along with the books they write or music that inspires them. Since over a year it’s become real popular to print the lists at the back of the book, especially young adult books.

Though some authors post it over at their blogs, which works too, because I’ve heard of readers copying the list and listening to it while reading the book.

There is one particular author, Charles Bog, who asked artist to compile songs for his book Beautiful Children.

Sorry, I got carried away. It’s always nice to see when one of my theories is confirmed πŸ˜‰

I’d really like to see the playlist!

Hmmm, interesting. I love Ray’s music, yet I’ve never heard of the song. I’ll have to check it out. Something new…Can’t wait to see what your play list is like.

    Have a great weekend.

I *LOVE* that song!! Born country, there’s not much country music old or new I don’t know. I think you should go for it!!!

I can’t wait to hear what your playlist is for different stories. I know a couple of other authors that do this – and if it is one of my favorite books, I’ll download the list onto my MP3 player.

Now you’ve got me intrigued about that Willie Nelson song – will have to listen to it.

I’d be interested in seeing your play list for different stories. Do you look for songs that have a specific mood or theme that you’re writing about? Which would also beg the question of how many of your plot points were influenced by your play list?

It’s going to be fascinating to what songs go with what stories. I look forward to it.

    Have a great weekend.

I’m going to have to look that song up. I don’t think I’ve heard it.

Have a GREAT weekend TA! πŸ™‚
