Poetry Train…

Here’s a little scene I wrote up. It goes along with the story I wrote yesterday for the Flash Fiction Sunday at SEx. It’s dark and a little scary…lol. Very different from what I’ve written before. Enjoy.

“I won’t beg.” The large auburn haired man glares at me.

I chuckle, circling the kneeling man. I love seeing this strong man bound in front of me. His muscled arms are tied behind him with a thin gold chain, hooked to a wide black leather collar around his neck. I reach out, running my finger down from the point where my captive’s pulse pounds at the base of his throat to the middle of his chest.

“Hmm…no begging, huh?” I grin at him.

“Your kind lives for causing pain, Archelaus.” His teeth grind together as he shivers.

“My kind? My dear man, you have never run into my kind before.” I trace a line from one nipple to the other, encouraging those little pieces of flesh to harden.

A huge shudder wracks the man’s body. I pinch and twist, watching him with a half-lidded stare. His pale skin flushes and I glance down to see my plaything’s cock stiffen. He shifts, trying to move away from me, but he couldn’t.

I lean forward, licking a line over the vein throbbing in the man’s neck. A gentle breeze rushes past me, scented with cinnamon and vanilla. I reach out, smoothing my hand over the white feathers of the man’s wings.

“Then again, maybe you have,” I comment before sinking my fangs into his neck.

Busy Friday…

Hey everyone,
Today is going to be a busy day for me, so I didn’t have time to find a book to pimp. Sorry about that.
But I thought I’d post a nice pic for you all instead. 🙂
And to just let you know, I plan on putting the blinders on this weekend. I’m focusing on Tony’s story (Home of his Own) to the exculsion of all my other stories. I’m going to see how far I can get by next Wednesday’s WiPs update. Hopefully, it’ll be at least another 10k added.
Have a great Friday.

Wednesday Update…

So Rhian awarded me a Rockin’ Guy Blogger award. (As you can tell, it was originally a Rockin Girl Blogger, but she didn’t want to leave half of us out…lol) I’ve been posting some song lyrics the past couple of Mondays for the Poetry Train. They’re really poems that I’m using as songs in one of my WIPs, His Heart’s Home. One of the heroes, Derek St. Martin, is a country music star. He writes his own songs, so I thought it would be neat to include some in the story. I hope they help tell their story as well.

Thank you so much, Rhian. Now do I have to award someone else with this? Or five someone elses? lol

Also, I’ve gotten another review for Stealing Life. Bella of TwoLipsReviews gave SL four kisses and had this to say:

T.A. Chase wrote a compelling story with many surprising plot twists that will hold your interest. If you enjoy m/m romances Stealing Life is a great addition to your library.”

Click here for the rest of the review. Thank you, Bella for another great review. 🙂

Getting closer to finishing the re-write on Out of Bounds to re-submit to Samhain. Hopefully by the end of the week. But by focusing on this story, it pushes my deadline for finishing Tony’s story back a little. I’m hoping to send Home of His Own to my cps no later than the middle of July. So a little bit of good and bad news.

Hope everyone has a great day. 🙂

Hop on to the Wednesday Poetry Train

Since I missed Monday’s Poetry Train, I thought I’d make up for it by posting something today.

I’ve been posting songs/poems that I’ll be using in one of my Home books…His Heart’s Home which features Derek, a country music star, and Max, the foreman at Tony’s ranch. What I’m going to post for you today is actually a scene from my WIP. Yes, I realize I haven’t gotten Tony’s story done yet, but this scene called to me and I had to write it down right when it popped into my head or I’d have forgotten it.

So tell me what you think of it. I will tell you it takes place closer to the end of the story. 😉

Their love making was slow and gentle. Hands roamed over chests and backs. Lips tasted soft skin at the small of the back and the crease of the knee. Fingers caressed cocks and asses.

No words were spoken. Each ‘I love you’ and every ‘good-bye’ was spoken with sighs and kisses. Their climax didn’t explode from them. It flowed like all the tears they would never cry.

Afterwards, they held each other tight, savoring the strength in their arms and the warmth of their bodies. They fell asleep, at ease with their parting.

So I’ve done some work on HHH and also Tony’s story. I promise. I’m really pushing to get it finished by the end of this month. I’m working on Out of Bounds to re-submit to Samhain as well. Who knows? I might have two books done by the end of the month and possibly both contracted by the end of July. Woo-hoo!

Oh Gina, if you stop by, Lisa posted a comment for you in my Three post. check out the comments. 🙂

Have a great Wednesday.

Funny Friday

hey everyone….been a crazy day and just flying by to give you some yummy eye candy.

It’s been a crazy week. A lot busier than I planned on being.

Heard from Samhain about the Valentine’s anthology for next year. Didn’t get picked, but the editor did tell me that if I wanted to re-write it, adding to it, using the suggestions she made..she’d be happy to look at it again for consideration as a single title book. So I’ll be working on that one this weekend, plus Tony’s story.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Finally Friday…

I know I usually pimp books on Friday, but I have to admit I don’t feel like it today…lol. Not that there aren’t a ton of good books out there. Must be a lazy day for me. don’t worry…pimping will resume sometime this weekend.

Also, the next installment of The Vanguard will be posted sometime this weekend as well. Last night was really busy and I didn’t get a chance to write it yet…lol.

I did do some work on Tony’s story along with the sequel to the short story I sent to Samhain for consideration and inclusion in their 2008 m/m Valentine’s Day anthology. Haven’t heard back from them yet about it, but I think I still have a few days left before they’ll be notifying people. 🙂

Yesterday, Kimi from Texas asked if I was ever going to write a story for Shade from Angel’s Evolution. I admit that when I wrote AE, I thought about doing a sequel and tell Shade’s story. I’m not ruling the possibility out. I did add a clue or two at the end of the story about Shade. But at the moment, his story isn’t on the schedule. I really want to get all the Home books done first and the Dragon books I’m planning as well. Though with the way things work for me, who’s to say, that tomorrow I won’t be inspired to write Shade’s romance. 🙂

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Slight Delay

There will be a slight delay in the release of THREE, from what I’ve been told. Liquid Silver had a computer problem and they couldn’t publish this week’s books. So it looks like those two will be pubbed next Monday and ours will be pushed back a week…meaning it’ll be out June 18th. 🙁 Sorry for the delay, everyone, but unfortunately these things happen.

Wrote some more on both The Vanguard and Home of his Own. Plus did some work on a couple other story ideas. My main focus remains Tony’s story. Want to get it finished by the end of June.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday. 🙂

Release Date

Hey everyone, Three has gotten a release date….June 11th. Mark it down on your calender. It’s a hot anthology with Bonnie and Lisa joining me. 🙂 I posted another excerpt today and I’m sure Bonnie and Lisa will be posting theirs sometime during the day, so stop by SiN and check them out.

I finished the short story I was working on. Sent it out to my cps and already heard back from one. Lila remarked about one of the last scenes and I agreed with her, so I’ll be working on fixing that today. Plus doing working on Vanguard and Home of his Own (Tony’s story)

Hope you all have a wonderful day. 🙂

Movie Review

I watched Pan’s Labyrinth the other night. I was told by people that this movie could change my life. I don’t know about that. I’ve seen very few movies in the last couple of years that have changed me in some fundamental way. (Brokeback Mountain being one of the few.)

But even though it didn’t change my life, PL was still a very good movie and deserved all of the accolades it received. The imagery was stunning along with the fantastic creatures Guillermo del Toro created to tell this story of a little girl’s search for the marvelous and beautiful in a world gone mad. There are two story lines going on during the movie and if you can’t handle violence and sadistic torture, don’t watch it. For the real world this little girl lives in would break the heart of a strong man.

Oh, Sherrill tagged me, so I have to give you eight more things you didn’t know about me. Hmm…it was hard enough coming up with the first eight. But here I go…

1. As you can tell, I love movies, but my absolute favorite kind are martial art movies. Jet Li is a god in my eyes….though my favorite movie of his is Unleashed (and not just because it has Morgan Freeman in it.)

2.I listen to all kinds of music: country, opera, rock, pop. One of my all-time favorite songs is Seven Spanish Angels sung by Ray Charles and Willie Nelson. Just the story that song tells of two doomed lovers touches my heart. There’s a story there and I’m going to write it someday (with my own little twist of course)

3. As if you didn’t already know, my favorite animals in the whole world are horses. All the different breeds and types. From ponies to draft horses. I love them for their strength, for their gentleness. I love them for their unconditional love and overwhelming willingness to trust. For their beauty and their heart.

4. I’m of the theory that God exists, but He started the evolution process long ago and then stepped back to see what we do with what He created. (I can’t think He’s very happy with what we’ve done) All the good and bad that happens to us in this life is because of us and not God. How can I thank Him for the good and not blame Him for the bad if He controls everything?

5. My favorite color is dark green. Not sure why except there’s a feeling of vibrant life and growth in that color.

6. Rainy days are my favorite days to stay home and write all day. Maybe it’s the sound of the rain falling outside my window while I’m sitting warm and dry that makes the words flow better. (As you can tell with these facts.)

7. My cats make me laugh.

8. I’ve written over 135,000 words so far this year and finished four stories. 🙂 I’ve had two books released so far with one more coming out soon. (those are the ones that have been contracted.)

have a great Saturday, everyone.

No Triple Crown

Curlin destroyed any hope of a Triple Crown for Street Sense. So for thirty-one years, we keep waiting to find a horse who can do it all. It was a thrilling race though. I hoped Street Sense could do it again, but I would have bet on either Curlin or Hard Spun. Just didn’t have enough faith that the racing gods would smile down on him again.

In other news, it was a bittersweet moment for Michael Matz as his horse Chelokee won the inaugural running of The Barbaro Stakes. It does seem rather fitting though. In one of the other undercard races at Pimilco yesterday, the Dixie Stakes (raced on the turf), one of the horses, Mending Fences broke down going around the far turn. He fractured his ankle and dislocated it which caused him to do down. It was a compound fracture, so he was humanely euthanized after they got him back to the barn. Sad news to mar the day again.

But we’ll see what Curlin can do in the Belmont. His breeding suggests he should like the longer distance.

Since you probably didn’t stop by to read me talking about horses and racing, I’ll let you all know that I’m only 5k or so away from finishing my basketball story. I have a party to go, but I’m hoping I can get the story finished today. 🙂

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.
