Last Friday of the Year

Wow….Sunday is the start of a whole new year. I have to say this year flew by. It was like I blinked on January 1st, 2011, and suddenly here we are, Dec. 30th of the same year. What happened to all that time in between? Where did it go?
I have to admit 2011 was an experiment to see if I could write full time without allowing myself to be distracted and find better things to do while I’m home. I think I did a pretty good job all things considered. I’ve proven I can do it, and financially it worked out as well. So I guess I get to stay home another year. 😀
Good thing too, considering how many books I have on my calendar to write next year. Twelve are already contracted, and six of those are written. I have eleven more I’d like to finish next year as well. We’ll see what happens. That might too ambitious, and I might end up moving a few of them to 2013, but who knows? I might surprise myself…lol
Oh, and starting on January 2nd, I’ll be part of a blog tour called Cock and Bull Blog Tour. There’s fifteen of us, and there will be prizes. If you follow the tour, every comment you make along the way enters you into the grand prize contest. Which are some serious Amazon gcs. Also, there will individual prizes given out along the way. So you have the opportunity to win twice.
I’m up first on the blog tour, and I’ll be hosting Julia Knight…who also happens to be the only author in the tour who has girly bits in her story, but I promise her story is great. So I hope you look forward to that.
Also, I hope you all had a great 2011, and have a safe and fun New Year’s Eve and Day. 🙂 See you in the new year.
Wild day

Yesterday was taken up with doing edits, and finishing up my Christmas shopping. So I didn’t have any time to work on They Walk Among Us. I was bushed when I got home last night, and all I did was veg in front of the TV for an hour before I went to bed…lol
Don’t worry. The next installment will be up tomorrow for your enjoyment. 🙂 I’m working on Gypsies as well. I hope everyone likes this new trilogy as much as I like the idea of it…lol. Gypsies is the first one in the series.
Well, I have a lot of writing to do, so I’m going to wish you all a Happy Thursday…and be safe.
Closing in on the end

of the year and Replacing Memories. I’m seeing the last chapter or so of the story, then it’s on to the next one. I don’t tend to take time off between books. It must be the need I have to write. I can go one night or so without doing it, but if I go longer than a day, I start to get cranky. Writing is something I need to do, much like reading, though it’s taking the main spot and reading has been pushed back to second place for me.
So once I finish RM, I might take the rest of that day off, but I’ll start a new story the next day. More than likely, it’s all the characters I have stuffed into my head are clamoring for their stories to be told. I try to keep them in a straight (lol) line and organized, but sometimes some cut to the front, and there’s nothing I can do about it.
It’s back to writing for me. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday, and an awesome weekend.
Happy Hunk Day

So it’s Wednesday all ready? Where did the beginning of the week go? I swear December is speeding by. Before I realize it, it’s going to be 2012 and I’m going to be freaking out about that…lol.
Writing is going well. I’m trying to finish Replacing Memories this week. I’ve got about another 9k or so to get done. No big deal, but it is the last story on my 2011 list to finish. After that, I’m starting on 2012’s list…lol. I’ve got a lot of books on that section to write. But just take it one story at a time, and hope I hit my deadlines. 🙂
I hope you all have a great Hump Day. 🙂
Cover-Famine
Here is the awesome cover for Famine, which will be out on Feb. 21st of next year. I’ve adored the covers for all three of the books in this series so far. I love how the cover artist uses color to separate each cover, give it its own originality. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what she does for Death. I finished the last book on Friday, and turned it in. Now I’m writing a short story called Replacing Memories. It’s a sequel to my Christmas story, Joy of the Season. After RM is done, I’ll be starting Gypsies, which is the first book in a new trilogy called The Beasor Chronicles. I’m looking forward to writing it. 🙂
Also, on Friday, I contracted a new YA story titled The Deepest Cut. It’s not part of the Death series, though I do plan on writing two more books in that series soon. The Deepest Cut will very emotional involving a school shooting and self-mutilation. But it does have a Happy For Now ending, along with the feeling that the main character will be all right.
So I’ll be very busy for next several months, which isn’t all bad. lol I hope you have a great Monday, everyone.
Last Month of the Year

wow…I can’t believe it’s December all ready. Where did the entire year go? 🙂 Oh well…the only bad thing about December is the snow. 🙁 Told my hubby the other day, if we could afford it, I’d totally be a snow bird on him. Take off the day after the first snowfall, and not come back until April or May. Of course, he pointed out he would probably have to come and drag me back with spring showed up. He might have a point.
Got another 4k done on Death. I’m over 32k into the story, so that’s halfway done, and I’m happy with how it’s going. I think this will be a great way to end the series, though I’m planning on writing a related story about Lam, the messenger angel, who makes an appearance in each of the books. He has his own problems.
I did some writing on the short story featuring Tavis and Hal from Joy of the Season. I think you’ll like the story. It’s to see how they’re doing a few months after Christmas. 🙂 I’m writing it out long hand during the evenings after I hit my word count for Death. So I’m not entirely sure how many words I have for the story yet. Won’t know until I type it in. I should do that this weekend.
Well, I hope you all have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. yay!
Happy Black Friday

I hope you all survived Thanksgiving…and for those of you out shopping right now, I hope you manage to survive that as well. I might go out later today, and see what’s happening. There weren’t any deals I just had to get up way too early in the morning for…lol. 🙂
I plan on writing most of the weekend, and see where I’m at by Sunday night. Hopefully further along than I am right now. 🙁 Not nearly as far into the story as I need to be. This cold is kicking my butt because it’s making me very uninterested in anything except sleeping on the couch. Oh well. I can’t wait to get rid of it.
Well have a great Friday, and a marvelous weekend, everyone. 🙂
TGIF

Yesterday was a little bit of bust when it came to Death. I didn’t add much to that story, but I ended up writing a scene or two for another story because I didn’t want to lose it when it showed up in my head. 🙂 So I did get some writing done…lol.
I’m hoping to get more done on the last Horseman book. Maybe a lot this weekend, because I probably won’t get much done next week. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week already. What happened to November? Where did this entire year go? 😀
Well, I hope you have a great Friday, and a marvelous weekend.
Happy Veterans Day..and a new contract

Thank you to all who have served, are serving today, and will be serving some day. Happy Veteran’s Day, and I will have a moment of silence for you all at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day on the eleventh month.
Good news as well. The Longest Stride will be out on January 22nd. I added another 10k to the story. It’ll also be coming out in paperback around the end of February. Woot!
I hope you all have a great day…and a wonderful weekend.
NSFW Monday Morning

Or it might not be safe for work, depending on how you look at it…lol. 🙂 At least the picture is. My post won’t be. I’m hoping to be over 10k into Death by the end of the day today, plus I have to get the next installment of the blog story done as well. We’ll see how good I am to sticking to the plan…lol.
Had a good weekend, and got some writing done, but not a lot. Needed to recharge and relax.
I hope everyone has a great Monday.
