Happy April.
Where the heck did March go? I must have missed it in the blur of getting NGH done. 🙂
Sorry, I wasn’t around this weekend. Took time off from the computer. Needed a little rest. I think I might be coming down with some sort of cold. Oh well…drinking lots of Vit. C. to try and combat the germs. lol
Next up on the agenda, Lyva’s Chance, part of my Blood of Eden series. I’ve gotten 6500 done on it. Not sure how big a word count I want to put on it right now. Just going to start working on it and see where it leads me.

Two of the sweetest words
Along with Love you and More Vodka, THE END are two of the sweetest words. I got to type those in tonight. Wrapping up NO GOING HOME at the unofficial word total of 65,235 words. I wrote 6400 words tonight to get it done. 🙂 So join me for a drink. I’m sure our bartender will let you do body shots off him. He seems like an accomdating guy.
Now, I’ll be reading it through and editing it. Then it’s going to be submitted. 🙂 Paige, who was gracious enough to read my first story, Here Be Dragons, has agreed to look this one over as well. I hope she falls in love with Les and Randy like I did.
so ladies, my cowboy muses are available if you would like to give them new homes…lol. They might stick around for a day or two until I finally submit it, but after that, they’re free game.

Thrillin’ Thursday
I’m sure these two young ‘uns are finding all sorts of mischief to get into. 🙂 Or else the one in the white hat’s about to going swimming if their horse pushes him in…lol.
Well 58k was reached last night…actually I’m 200 words away from 59k, but I’ll be hitting 60k tonight. My partner’s gone for the night, so except for my cats, I won’t have any distractions.

A Personal Trainer?
I think if I had a trainer like this one, I’d be spending all of my time in the gym. 🙂
Went and saw my godson last night. He looks like an angry wrinkled old man…lol. All red and squished-faced. But he’ll grow out of that, I’m sure. 😉 The little one is doing well. Mom had a mild case of preeclampsia, so the hospital is planning on letting them go home today. They are all looking forward to taking him home.
Writing gods smiled on me last night. I’ve reached 56k..5523 words done last night. My fingers were tired, but it’s worth it. So the new goal of 60k is looking more and more reachable every day. 🙂

I love this picture. There’s something very touching about it. I’m left with the impression that they love each other as much in that moment as they did when they first met.
Well…hit 51k last night. I’m in the homestretch of the story, but I might have to revise the 55k goal and up it to 60k. Yay!

See A Man about a Horse
Happy Monday. Yay! The start of another work day. Someday I’m going to be rich and won’t need to work at all..if I don’t want to. 🙂 Of course, then I’d probably be bored out of my mind. So I shouldn’t complain too much.
Writing went well yesterday. Got 2k done. Only 1k away from 50k. Hopefully that goal will be reached today.
Baby countdown started yesterday in the morning. My partner’s best friend’s girlfriend (did you follow that…lol) went into labor yesterday. They headed into the hospital last night. So we should be hearing something today about the new little boy. 🙂 I have my fingers crossed that it won’t be a long labor. Poor thing was ready to pop and so ready to get the kid out. lol
I give women everywhere credit. To even think about giving birth leaves me whimpering and queasy. Can’t say it looks like a lot of fun either.

Hope everyone’s Saturday went well. As I thought I didn’t get hardly any writing done, though I did add more to the opening chapter of NGH. 🙂 I added about 600 words yesterday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll get more done today.

No Going Home excerpt…(adult language)
Here’s an unedited and uncontracted excerpt from NO GOING HOME (c) 2006 T.A. Chase
“That’s just one of the things you love about me.” Les settled in the seat beside him, spreading those long legs to draw his gaze to the bulge the khaki pants weren’t hiding.
“There’s at least one other thing I like about you.” His voice dropped to a husky whisper. He started to reach over and fondle Les’s hard-on.
“Hey, there is someone else in this vehicle with y’all. You should have stayed in bed longer. Jesus.” Tony’s voice shot through him.
His cheeks burned with embarrassment as he yanked his hand back and turned the truck on. Looking behind him to back up, he caught Tony’s eye. The bull rider gave him a smile and a thumbs-up. Relaxing, he should have realized Tony wouldn’t be uncomfortable with their flirting.
“I knew we shouldn’t have given you a ride,” Les groused.
“Oh excuse me for interrupting the impromptu hand-job you were about to get. I hear denying yourself sexual release is good for the soul.” Tony snickered as Les shot him a baleful glare.
“So how did you celebrate last night?” Les turned to face forward again.
Tony’s dark eyes gleamed and Randy hastened to say, “That might not be information we really want to hear.”
“Don’t worry, kid. I was good last night. Didn’t get into any fights or hit on any cowboys who weren’t gay. Did some drinking, some dancing and some fucking. All in all, a pretty good night.”
“Fucking? Who?” Randy looked in the review mirror to see Tony shake his head.
“Now kid, I don’t fuck and tell.” Tony stared out the window for a moment. “He’s a good guy, but farther in the closet than you were. I’m not the man Les is, so I wouldn’t be able to pry him out of there.”
“Any man in his right mind would never go back in the closet after spending a night with you, I’m sure,” Randy reassured the bull rider while shooting a look over at Les.
“Some people fear what people will say more than what the lies will do to their souls,” Les commented.
After a Hard Day’s Work…

Well, I made up for not writing on Thursday by writing 4k yesterday…taking me up 46k all together. Yay! That means I’m only 9k away from my original word count goal and NGH might end up being longer than planned. Which is all right with me.
Maybe a little later today, I’ll grace you all with an unedited excerpt from NGH. 🙂 Would y’all like to meet my cowboy and his man?

Soaking up the sun
Sorry about no post yesterday. I swear the internet gods hate me. I suffered through no ‘net at work for three days. Then yesterday we got it, but I had a huge presentation to give, so couldn’t play on it…lol. Last night by the time I got home, I had a migraine…one where if you move your head just an inch, you feel like you’re going to throw up. Not only that, but my ‘net was out at home as well. It’s a conspiracy…that’s all I have to say.
I curled up on my couch and watched basketball and hockey. So no writing got done last night…though I did think about NGH for a little bit. I know where I’m going with it next. Hopefully I’ll get a lot written this weekend. And the ‘net problem should be fixed today or so my partner tells me. 🙂
