Poetry Train…

Strong Arms…

Strong arms hold me close.
Strong arms push me away.
I wonder why I chose to stay.

Strong arms keep me safe.
Strong arms crush me tight.
I wonder why I chose to fight.

Strong arms give me help.
Strong arms cause me pain.
I wonder what I hope to gain.

Strong arms enfold me.
Strong arms swallow me.
I wonder what I hope to be.

Strong arms keep me free.
Strong arms tie me down.
I wonder how I hope to live.

I wish I could stop wondering…

Poetry Train

Into the Chasm

I stare into the chasm,
Studying the blackness
And wondering
Will it hurt when I land?

A light catches my attention,
Drawing my gaze to the other side
And thinking
Will it burn when I touch it?

Your face appears before me,
Smiling with hope in your eyes
And asking
Will I join you when I’m ready?

The darkness of the abyss frightens me,
Causing fear to boil in my heart
And feeling
Will I die when I step off the edge?

You call to me,
Begging me not to ignore you
And holding
Will you catch me when I make the choice?

I reach out with my hand,
Spanning the canyon
And touching
Will you protect my heart when I give it to you?

Our fingers caress,
Entwining together for strength
And trusting
Will we love forever when I bridge the chasm?

You nod.
I believe.
We’re together.

Poetry Train

Sorry this is late, everyone. Had a big meeting this morning and didn’t have time to post it. Hope you enjoy.

Pain and Pleasure

Wrists bound.

Back bleeds.

Blood sings

Body needs.

You press against me.

Pain races over my nerves,

Mingling with pleasure

To make me beg.

You take me in

And teach me

My secret need

To understand how to kneel.

Cuffs open.

Gag removed.

Order given.

I fall apart.

Your arms hold me close

Keeping me grounded.

I turn to you

Believing you know my very soul.

Poetry Train

(a little baby faced, aren’t they? But they convey the emotion I was looking for. 🙂 )

Silent Tears

Silent tears trace paths down my cheeks.
My arms ache with the need to comfort you.
There’s pain in your smile.
Loneliness in your eyes.

Nothing I do will make it right.
I stand in the background and watch you struggle.
I know the truth
And understand the outcome.

You’ll move on without me.
The time has come for us to say good-bye.
At some point in the future, you’ll forget my face.
I’ll only be a bittersweet memory.

That’s all right with me.
I had you for a time.
I was your whole world
And you were mine.

I don’t regret any of it.
Relationships must end
All good things sometimes go bad
And simply fade away.

Poetry Train

For the Poetry train today, I thought I’d post a scene that I wrote yesterday for the Flash Fiction over at SEx. It’s short and I’ll probably change the tense and pov, but I wanted to see if you all would be interested in learning more about the story. If not, I’ll tuck it away and not think about it again. (It’s not like I don’t have enough story ideas to keep me busy for years.) If you do, then I’ll make sure to mark it as a possible story line down the road. Enjoy.

“Okay. I know you like to act all macho and everything, but we’re lost. We’re going to be late for the reception.” I fold my arms and glare at him.

“I know where I’m going.” His tone tells me he’s mad.

“No, you don’t. If you did, we’d have been there by now.”

“Do you want to drive?”

His statement makes me smile to myself. It could get me in trouble if he saw it.

“I’d love to, but you’re the driver I hired. You should know how to get to wherever I want to go.” I tug off my sunglasses. “Besides I’m blind.”

“Shit.”

I’m not sure if he’s swearing because I’m blind or because he’s frustrated. I pinch the bridge of my nose and sigh. “I can’t believe you’re this incompetent. Were you told to keep me from the reception?”

“Yes.” Something about his voice informs me he isn’t happy about that.

“Who would do that?” I shake my head. “Never mind. I know.”

“Listen. I’m sure you’re a great guy, but I don’t want my sister getting hurt.”

My laugh sounds harsh. “I’m sorry to tell you this, but she’s going to get her heart broken if she trusts Chet to be faithful.”

“How would you know?” The car stops.

“Chet told you to insure I don’t show up at the reception. He’s afraid I’ll say something to his wife.” I frown. “I’m Chet’s former lover.”

Poetry Train

Dreams and Reality…

Music drifts over the dark night
Chasing my dreams.
Curled in my bed,
I know nothing is as it seems.

Dragons float above me
Breathing fire.
Pixies dance around me,
Urging me to fly higher.

Fireflies dart here and there,
Teasing me.
Bright lights on dark velvet,
Happy just to be.

Your arms wrap tight,
Holding me close.
I lean my head against your chest,
Trusting you the most.

A shrill sound breaks into
The moment.
Morning calls me
Becoming my most vicious opponent.

Opening my eyes,
I stare at the space beside me.
It’s empty.
My dreams dissolve into reality.

Poetry Train.

One Petal…

One perfect petal
Floating upon the water
Captured in one moment
All the beauty of time.

Drifting here and there
Reflecting in the black
obsidian liquid.
A blush of pink.
A hint of white.

The current flows around
the edges
Bringing peace to the journey.
The perfect petal follows the river,
Allowing the water to guide it to its destiny.

Poetry Train

With Me…

Come with me
Let me wrap you in my arms.
I’ll protect you from the dark.

Sit with me.
Let me warm you.
I’ll give you a safe place to hide.

Talk with me.
Let me listen to you.
I’ll share your secrets and tell you mine.

Laugh with me.
Let me make you smile.
I’ll show you joy.

Spend time with me.
Let me give you support.
I’ll be your friend.

Poetry Train

I watch him,
Silent and unsure.
Need
Lust
Well in me.

Does he know
What he makes me feel?
Want
Heat
Burn in me.

I don’t have
The courage to approach.
Fear
Loss
Rises in me.

He walks away
With a backward glance and smile.
Hope
Love
Builds in me.

Maybe he does know.

Poetry Train…

I figured I’d get a jump on the Poetry Train…lol.

Here’s my contribution:

Little black cat,

Napping the day away.

If I asked,

What do you dream of?

What would you say?

I dream of birds,

You say with a grin.

Fluttering outside my window

In the cold winter air.

I want to invite them in.

I dream of mice,

You say with a smirk.

Scurrying from place to place

In a frenzied hurry.

Too much work.

I dream of fish,

You say with a smile.

Swimming in bowls

Side to side slowly.

To catch, it would take a while.

I dream of warmth,

You say with a purr.

Curling on his lap

Stroking my back

Softly and gently.

I secretly adore him.
