Poetry Train

Dreams and Reality…

Music drifts over the dark night
Chasing my dreams.
Curled in my bed,
I know nothing is as it seems.

Dragons float above me
Breathing fire.
Pixies dance around me,
Urging me to fly higher.

Fireflies dart here and there,
Teasing me.
Bright lights on dark velvet,
Happy just to be.

Your arms wrap tight,
Holding me close.
I lean my head against your chest,
Trusting you the most.

A shrill sound breaks into
The moment.
Morning calls me
Becoming my most vicious opponent.

Opening my eyes,
I stare at the space beside me.
It’s empty.
My dreams dissolve into reality.

I like this part of the dream-night:

    ‘Dragons float above me
    Breathing fire.
    Pixies dance around me,
    Urging me to fly higher.’

    Let’s abolish alarms…
