Sorry about being late…

I know I’m late posting anything, but I slept in today. I’m not feeling all that great, so I called in sick and decided to take it easy. If I feel up to it later on, I might do some writing.
Embrace My Reflection is going really well. The story just feels like it needs to be told, and Ronnie and Lucius are talking to me a lot. Which is always a good sign. 🙂
Well, I hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend, everyone.
Windy Wednesday

So I figured out that Falling in Love…Again wasn’t working out. Something about it just didn’t feel right, though I have gotten quite a bit written on it. I decided to set it aside for now and work on something else for the Dec. 1st deadline.
In walks Ronnie and Lucius, and their story, Embrace My Reflection. Ronnie’s a cross-dresser who works at a cabaret in New Orleans, and Lucius is a NOPD detective and also was Ronnie’s first lover back in high school. (Actually they only made love once before Lucius left for the army) Ronnie’s having a problem with a stalker and Lucius comes to help him out.
I started it Monday night and already have over 8k written on it. Woot! It’s really flowing for me and this time, the story feels right. I’m hoping to get at least 20k for it, but we’ll see where it ends up. 🙂 I will come back to Falling in Love…Again, but probably not for a little while until I work out what’s wrong with the story…lol.
Tonight, I have to get the next installment of Geeks done, then it’ll be back to working on Embrace.
I hope you all have a great day. 🙂
It’s raining…

here…and it’s dark and gloomy. Ugh! I hate Mondays like this, but the great news is I only have 47 more days left. Yep…I’m quitting my job to write full time. 😀 I’m excited and nervous about it all at the same time. Starting Jan. 3rd, I’ll be working from home…which in a way makes me really happy because I won’t have to drive in the snow unless I really want to…lol. Hopefully, it means even more books out as well.
I made good progress on Falling in Love…Again, but it doesn’t seem to be flowing quite right. It’s one of those things where it just feels off. It’s hard to explain. 🙂 But while I was trying to fall asleep last night, I came up with a really good story line that I’m going to start working on and with just a little tweaking, it’ll be perfect for the PAX that is due on Dec. 1. As soon as I get a title and flesh out the story line, I’ll let you all know about what it’s about.
Oh, and there’s a contest going on at ARe, Just One Bite Short Story Contest. Our wonderful friend, Jambrea, has a story in the running. If you haven’t already voted, maybe you could stop by and check out all four stories. Vote for the ones you like in each bracket. Here’s the link. You have to register at ARe (If you don’t already have an ‘account’ there) Thanks for taking the time out to look at them. 🙂
Have a great Monday. Hope it’s nicer where you are.
Wear Purple….

This was started to remember the LGBTQ kids who have committed suicide in recent months, and to help bring bullying into the spotlight. Yes, most of the attention has been on the LGBTQ kids, but it’s important that everyone remember that those aren’t the only kids who get bullied in school. It’s any kid who is perceived as different from the normal…because of looks, social status, religion, or ethnicity…among other things.
There needs to be a zero tolerance for any type of bullying because…while our children do need to realize that not everyone will like them and things won’t always go their way, everyone of them should be treated as the precious creature they are. Each child and teenager has something to give to the world, and they shouldn’t end up feeling that extinguishing that light is the only way to make the pain stop.
I have hope that some day things will change. That we, as humans, will learn how to celebrate our differences, instead of persecuting those who aren’t like us. And to all the kids out there who are bullied, whether it’s because you identify as LGBT or are questioning who you are…or are just different in your own unique way, things will get better. Just hang in there and ask for help. There are people out there who will listen and believe. There are people out there who will help you. Because each one of you is beautiful and magical. 🙂
Friday off….

Woot! I took today off. 🙂 But today, I don’t have anything to do, so I’m hoping I’ll get a lot of writing done. It would be nice. I got 2k done on Voice yesterday and it’s moving along pretty nicely. No sex yet and I’m over half way through the story, but sex wouldn’t fit in any earlier than I’m going to be put it in. Hopefully, the publisher I’m going to send it to will accept it like that.
Oh, someone asked if the covers on the sidebar were still in publishing order….and the answer is yes. They’re still in the order they were published, just two by two this time. 🙂
I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.
Wicked Wednesday….

You know…there was something I wanted to tell you all…or a question I wanted to respond to, but for the life of me…I can’t remember it. Oh, I’m sure it’ll come back to me at some point. lol.
Writing went well yesterday. As well as I could hope since I was busy most of the day and only got about 1k added to Voices, but hey, it’s 1k more than I had yesterday. And one of my friends got to read the updated version. She loved what I have so far. I think this is one of my most emotional stories. In a way on par with Angel’s Evolution, though not as violent, imo. 🙂
That’s all I have…at least until I figure out what the heck I wanted to actually say…lol. I hope you all have a great day. Oh, I’m on Facebook now. If you look for me, look for T.a. Chase since they won’t let you have two capital letters for your first name.
National Coming Out Day….

Today, October 11th, is National Coming Out Day. We need to show our support for those who do chose to ‘come out’, but also to respect those who aren’t ready or wish to keep their sexual preferences private. 🙂
I wanted to post some links to some sites that will help, especially teenagers and their parents who are dealing with the decision of coming out.
www.youtube.com/itgetsbetterproject
http://www.thetrevorproject.org/
The first link is to Dan Savage’s It Gets Better Project. The second is to a forum for LGBTQ teenagers where they can meet and talk to others dealing with the same issues they are. The Trevor Project is one of the leading national organizations focusing on crisis intervention and suicide prevention among LGBTQ youth.
I didn’t do any writing over the weekend, no matter how well intentioned I was…lol. So it’s back to the grind. Not only my day job, but writing to catch up on what I should have gotten done this past weekend. 🙂
I hope you all had a great weekend, and have a good Monday as well.
It’s Friday….

Woo-hoo! Yep, I took today off. Have to run my dads to the airport, then C and I are taking off for a concert tonight. I decided I needed a mental health day. 🙂
I plan on doing some writing and editing. Not sure how much will get done today, but I do think I’ll be able to get some more written this weekend. Voice for the Silent is moving right along.
Oh, as you can see, I switched things around a little bit on my blog. The covers of my books now all link to their sales page at their respective publishers. I needed to find a way to show all of them without making you have to scroll all the way down the blog. Also, I put up a little word count thingie, so you can keep track of my progress on the various stories I working on. Hope you like that.
I forgot to mention that Wolf’s Survival hit the #1 spot on Amber Allure’s best seller list for September. All in only four days. I want to thank you all so much for supporting me and my stories. 🙂
I hope you all have an exciting Friday, and a safe and fun weekend.
