You choose….

Here are the blurbs for you to choose from for the newest blog story. I hope to have news about Bitter Creek soon. The first plan I had for it didn’t work out, but I’m working on something else at the moment. Don’t worry. It will be coming out at some point. 🙂

#1:

Earth Warriors: Bast

Harvard grad student, Kellan Largent is on the verge of finishing his doctorate on ancient Egyptian religious cults when he stumbles across an obscure reference to the Earth Warrior cult. Thrilled by his discovery, he works feverishly to translate the ancient language. Little does he know that one sentence in a dusty tattered book will engulf him in a battle between good and evil. A battle that could be the end of the world as he knows it.

The stray cat wandering the streets around Kellan’s house is more than an abandoned feline. Bast has roamed the earth from the days when Egypt was young. He’s watched the pharaohs rise and fall. New gods come and go. His purpose has remained the same: Protect the earth at all costs and keep the secrets of the Earth Warriors from mortals. He’s sent to keep Kellan Largent from finding out the truth about the Earth Warriors, but also to keep the unsuspecting college student alive.

One man will do anything for the spell that created the Warriors. He wants immortality and killing Kellan for the secret is just the beginning of the trouble he’ll cause to get what he wants.

Understanding the Past: (Henrich and Mason appear in Understanding Forgiveness, a short story in Shifting Perspectives)

Henrich and Mason have been building a fragile relationship for the past six months, ever since Henrich saved Mason from being killed by a mob of humans.

Mason is learning how to trust Henrich, but knowing that it was Henrich’s father who created him and all of the other shifters causes moments of doubt for Mason. He struggles to open his heart and soul to Henrich.

Henrich thinks Mason was created just for him. His pain and weakness lessens the more time he spends with the snow leopard shifter, but he also understands that he can not hold Mason to him. Mason must choose to stay for their love to grow.

The past has a way of surprising people. Henrich and Mason aren’t ready for the past to appear, but they must find a way to understand it before they can accept their combined future.

Time to Chose….

It’s time to chose the next blog story, everyone. I’ll let you tell me which one you’d like to read (right at the moment..hopefully both of them sound interesting enough that you’d like to read them…lol) You chose and then I’ll post the first installment next Tuesday. This Thursday I’ll post an unedited excerpt of my upcoming Samhain release, Bound by Love. 🙂 How’s that?

On to the blurbs. First up is a romantic comedy/paranormal.

#1: Allergies

Raymond Marvels is an unassuming guy. He works his eight hours and then some at his computer graphics job. Stops by the deli for a ham sandwich on the way home every night and watches the news at six and eleven. Raymond’s average in every way except one. He’s allergic to one of his co-workers.

Lou Canis isn’t sure how to deal with the fact that the one guy he’s attracted to can’t stop sneezing when he’s around. He can’t even be in the same room without Raymond’s eyes turning red and his nose running. After trying an experiment, Lou isn’t sure how to fix the situation because it seems Raymond’s allergy is to Lou’s human form and not his canine one.

What’s a shifter to do when the man he wants is allergic to his human side?

The next one is a romantic suspense/paranormal.

Leave me a comment on which one you’d like to be the next blog story. Even just posting the number will work. 🙂 Thanks. I look forward to seeing which one you pick. Hope everyone has a great day.

It’s Flash Fiction Sunday at SEx

Stop by SEx today and read some cool Flash Fiction stories. Our flash fiction is 100 (more or less) and today it can be on any topic we want. Lisa Andel is hosting the party.

I’ve already posted one on there and plan on putting a fee more up during the day. So stop by and say hi.

You Decide…

It’s that time again. You get to decide which story I post here as my new blog story. 🙂 I’ve got two blurbs for you. You’ve already gotten to see one..Swearing Allegiance (another fantasy) from last time and a new one…Where the Devil Dances. (which is a contemporary).

Here are the blurbs:

#1 Where the Devil Dances-

Scars aren’t always on the outside. Architect Eric Sandel is living proof of that. Surviving a terrible fire, he comes to Morley to rebuild his life. He hopes designing the new Opera House will help him bury the past.

Firefighter, David Browdie, hasn’t had much time for serious relationships. When he meets Eric at the neighborhood dog park, sparks fly and he thinks he might be ready for committment.

A demon from Eric’s past haunts him though and together, David and Eric must find a way to stop him beofre they all go up in flames.

#2 Swearing Allegiance-

When his country, Nutria, is attacked, Oleg, Prince of the North easily defeats the insane ruler. Oleg and his army march to Sangdon’s capital city to claim the throne and demand allegiance from Sangdon’s nobles and Svenson’s son. He expected some defiance, but he wasn’t expecting the stab of lust that greeted him his first night at court.

Prince Berrin’s relief at his father’s defeat is tempered by caution. He needs time to make up his mind about Oleg. When he asks for that time, the Prince of Nutria graciously gives it to him. Now he has a month to decide if the new king deserves his allegiance and that of Sangdon.

Disturbing rumors reach Oleg’s ears. Rumors that Berrin isn’t the son of the king after all. The Ancient Dark owns Berrin’s soul and will do what ever it must to protect him. Will Berrin and the magic inside him accept Oleg’s authority and his love? Or will the Nutrian Prince find himself fighting a war against a god?

So let me know which one you’d like to read and I’ll start posting installments…probably next Tuesday. I’ll need a few days to get things organized. Don’t worry, I’ll post something on Thursday..maybe an excerpt from one of the stories I’m working on. 🙂

Have a great Tuesday.

Wacky Wednesday

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and voiced an opinion about what story I should use for my next blog story. It worked out so well, I think I’ll be letting y’all vote every time I need a new story for you to read. 🙂

Tomorrow will see the posting of the first scene of The Vanguard. I hope you enjoy it.

Cathy, you asked me about Tony’s story. Funny you mention it. I did some more work on it last night. Not sure how much I’ve actually gotten done. Have to type most of it in and that’s on the agenda for tomorrow. Tonight is reserved for finishing up Understanding Forgiveness. I did realize though that I have to re-write the entire beginning of Tony’s story. And I’m getting the tunnel vision I need to work on it pretty much exclusively because I really want to write a Christmas story featuring Les, Randy and everyone you’ve met or are going to meet in Tony’s story as well. The Christmas story doesn’t really need to be done until August or September, but I’d like to get it finished early.

I did some work on UF last night. I thought I was close to the end, but now I’ve figured out I need at least one more chapter to finish it the right way. After that, it heads out to my critique partners and they get to tell me all the terrible things I’ve done wrong. 🙂

Hope you all have a wacky and wonderful Wednesday.

You Decide

lol..the picture doesn’t really have anything to do with the post, but I thought y’all might like some eye candy to jump start your morning.

Okay, here’s my problem. I have two stories I’d like to write and post as my blog story, but since I don’t have time to do both of them, I need to decide which one to actually focus on. That’s where you come in. 🙂

Since you’re the ones who will be reading it and taking the time out of your days to stop by, I thought I’d let you decide which one I should post. That way, I don’t have to pull my hair trying to pick between them. (it’s like trying to pick between your children, I’m sure.)

So I’m putting up two blurbs. I’d like you to post and tell me which one I should work on. (Don’t worry…both will get done, just one sooner than the other) Okay..here we go.

#1: The Vanguard-
Prince Rathian is the Supreme Commander of the Vanguard, the most elite unit in the Launioc army. His men fight not only for their country and Prince, but they fight for each other. Launioc’s king sends the army into war against Villious and their Queen. As his men die, Rathian’s heart breaks and he longs to find the one person to help him survive the war and the loss of his men.

Stakel is a Queen’s Consort and is abandoned by his fellow Consorts during a battle with the Vanguard. Taken prisoner, he finds himself learning about the enemy he’d been taught to hate. Stakel has been forced to do things he hated and fight for a ruler he owes no loyalty. In Rathian, Stakel finds not only a ruler, but a lover to whom he can give all of himself.

#2 Swearing Allegiance-
When his country, Nutria, is attacked by King Svenson of Sangdon, a neighboring kingdom, Oleg, Prince of the North easily defeats the insane ruler. Oleg and his army march to Sangdon’s capital city to “take over” (there’s a better word for this but can’t think of it right now) the throne and demand allegiance from Sangdon’s nobles and Svenson’s son.

********
Oh before I forget, stop over to LSB and check out Paige’s new book, Plain Jane which she co-authored with Tiffany Aaron. 🙂

Get busy and vote, people. I do have some written on both stories, so as soon as the decision is made, I’ll post the first scene on Thursday.

Wild Hogs

Saw WILD HOGS yesterday. It was a funny movie and one that was funny all the way through..not just in bits and pieces. Now I’m not a huge Travolta or Allen fan, but they were good. William H. Macy was my favorite out of the bunch.

Oh, the anthology title got changed. It’s now just Three because April, the cover artist, thought that would look better on the cover and who are we to argue? lol. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with for us. As soon as I get it, I’ll post it for everyone.

As you might notice, the links to my blog story, Firebird, have been deleted from the side bar. That doesn’t mean the story is gone, it just means you have to search for it now. I promise I’ll be starting a new story tomorrow. (hopefully..if I have time.) Forget about the little scene I posted the other day…lol. The new one will be a fantasy/sci-fi story. I’ve gotten a couple chapters already written on it..so we’ll see what you think about it.

This week is going to be really busy for me at work, so I’m going to try hard to post every day. It might not be right in the morning. I hope you’ll stop by through out the day if there isn’t anything new up first thing.

Have a great Monday, everyone.

The White Horse of the Hills

Not a very imaginative title, but at the moment that’s what I’m working with. Didn’t have time for picture either. I’ll look for one to post tomorrow. 🙂 But here’s just the beginning of my new blog story. Hope everyone has a great Friday.

During a time long ago in a land far away, there lived a young man. Ryan’s long glossy curls were as black as a raven’s wing. They flowed around his face and cascaded down his back. His skin was the purest alabaster with no flaws. It was the envy of all the village maids. His eyes were the same fresh green as the grass covering the rolling hills around the village. Lips as red and plump as the raspberries growing in his mother’s garden.

When Ryan walked through the village, the maids sighed and longed to catch his eye. At night in the dark, when the men of the village took themselves in hand, it was Ryan’s face they fantasized about instead of their own wives. Though those thoughts were never talked about.

Ryan has heard from the moment of his birth how beautiful he was, but it never changed the sweetness of his nature. He always had a kind word and a soft smile for everyone, even the grumpy man who baked the bread every day. Everyone in the village loved Ryan, the tailor’s son.
