Wednesday WiPs

I thought I’d tell you where I went this past week (Wednesday from Wednesday) That’s the wonderful thing about writing is I can go visit places without having to worry about traveling. Or I can do things without worrying about getting injured…lol.

I spent quite a bit of time in Wyoming. Tony and Brody finally decided they wanted me to visit them. I re-read what I had written and found where I went wrong. (At least I hope so.) I ended up deleting about 1k of what I’d written and started fixing it. We’ll see if that does it.

I went to Morley (haven’t decided what state that’s in…lol) to help Eric and David with a stalker. Of course, I think I’m making things worse before it gets better. 😉

I headed down to Memphis to see if a NASCAR driver and his movie star lover can make a relationship work. This story is one I work on while I’m in line at stores or the bank. It’s the easiest to pick up and set down at the moment. (It’s the second book in my sports series. The first book will be out in April from Samhain.)

So here are the word counts:

Home of his Own: 42,736/50,000 (3,333 words)

Where the Devil Dances: 13,350/50,000 (1,235 words)

Dreaming of Dragons: 652/50,000 (0 words)–though I’ve been hearing whispers in the back of my mind from Mordred and George, so I can see the word count starting to move soon on this one.

Devil’s Addiction: 30,582/50,000 (0 words)–I sort of left Beng in the middle of having sex with Daniel. Poor Daniel isn’t sure who he is. I’ve changed his name three times. Hopefully, this is the last name for him. 🙂

High Line: 23,968/50,000 (1,565 words)—just so you know what I have done on this story. ‘High Line’ is a racing term for when a driver takes the higher part of the track in a turn or when he’s passing someone.

So this week I’ve done 6,133 words. The thing is I’ve always set myself a goal of 2,000 words a day and lately I have been falling woefully short of that. Though I do get days where I’m inspired to write and get a ton done. Or I’ll write a little bit on two different stories to make up the total I want to reach.

In another news, Liquid Silver has contracted The Vanguard (expanded version) and Anne Cain will be doing the cover for that one. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

Have a great Wednesday. 🙂

TA, this one’s m/f but there’s a character that leaves the door open for a m/m story.

    Julia,

Thanks. I’m glad you like the updates. And yes, I’m thrilled that Mordred and George are finally willing to talk to me. 🙂

    Yvonne,

We’ve batted around some ideas, but she’s going to read the story first to see if what I’ve suggested makes sense or if I’m just crazy…lol.

She’s also doing the cover for my Samhain book as well. That one is going to be a photo cover…like HBD or NGH instead of an original art one like SL. Vanguard is going to be original art. 🙂

    bradleymel,

your story sounds interesting. Is it m/f or m/m? Again, just being nosy…lol.

I love taking little known facts or legends and writing about them for people to learn about.

If your word count is spread out over several stories, it’s still a word count! Your updates are a wonderful way to tantalize us with all the storylines going through your head. They all sound good, but ‘Dreaming of Dragons’ is the one that gets me the most.

It’s an erotic paranormal. I got the idea for setting it in my neighborhood because no one knows where it is. Most people think Chicago’s southside ends at 83rd street and is all bad. I admit my hood’s not the greatest but it’s been there since before the Civil War, was once considered part of Hyde Park and the land was purchased from a Pottowattamie woman. I once wrote a paper on it that floored my history prof because no one in the 15 years she’d been teaching the course had ever done the East Side.

I know I’m dying for Tony’s story but making it the best is what’s most important so I will reread No Going Home to tide myself over.

Thanks for the updates and the CUTIE!! Have you and Anne come up with an idea for the cover of Vanguard yet?
    Yvonne

What sort of story is it, bradleymel? Contemp? Paranormal? Erotic?

I know and I realize I’ve beent taking a long time getting it done. But I would rather take a long time than write something that sucked…lol. Things are starting to roll, I think.

I do love the man candy;)

That’s one thing I absolutely love about writing, you can go anywhere you want and even showcase the old neighborhood. I’m working on one set right here in my stomping grounds on the southeast side of Chicago.

Thanks for the updates TA. Though I am a patient person, I have been dying for Tony’s story. lol Take care and have a productive week.

I thought you might be interested in where I went while working on my stories. I should have said I went to Los Angeles as well for Tony’s story. That’s where they are at the moment.

he is cute, isn’t he? With a hint of a tattoo and a tan line. 😉

What an awesome update, I love how you took us through your week! Too fun! And your cutie today is absolutely adorable! Happy Hump Day!

  12. T.A.Chase says:

oh good, my math skills didn’t fail me at the moment. Though it’s really hit and miss with those. 🙂

  13. sylvie says:

    yes, about 3:40 PM now.

  14. T.A.Chase says:

lol…And I’m sitting here trying to figure out what time it is there. Not used to ‘military’ time. It’s only 3:30 or so there, right? (If I did my math or figuring right)

  15. sylvie says:

    Not yet, it’s only 15h35…

  16. T.A.Chase says:

You too, Sylvie…though I think your day is almost over, isn’t it? 🙂

  17. sylvie says:

Thanks for all these good news…

    Have a great day
