Poetry Train

I Want You…

Your hand trails over my hip.
Shivers chase down my spine.
Desire warms me.
I breathe, taking you deeper into me.

Each touch fills a place in my soul.
Each brush of your skin on mine
Pushes me closer to the edge.
I don’t want you to stop.

Your lips caress my neck.
Fingers trace lines over my chest.
Teasing and tasting every part
Of my body you can see.

Each touch fills a place in my soul.
Each brush of your skin on mine
Pushes me closer to the edge.
I don’t want you to stop.

I’ve fallen over the edge.
You hold me close,
Bringing me back to earth
With whispered words and gentle strokes.

The empty bed chills me.
When the door opens
And you leave,
I want you to stop.

the nice thing about poems is you can make them mean whatever you want. 🙂

Thank you, Yvonne. I’m sorry it’s sad. I’ll have to try a happy poem soon. 🙂

I’m hoping the last stanza is just the daily parting that is a torment for longtime lovers everywhere. Another beauty, T.A.

TA, I am not really into poetry BUT you have such a way with words. I love what you write even if it is sad.

I haven’t read enough Whitman to be able to agree, but I know your poetry’s got an amazing beauty and truth to it, TA. Yeehaw, this is gorgeous.

I’m going to look into it, Melissa. Not sure how long it’ll take to actually get something together. 🙂

Wow…comparing me to Walt Whitman even in passing is an honor.

The one poet whose works I take with me everywhere is Walt Whitman because he always makes me think and feel and reflect. Your poems touch me in the same way. So you need to do a collection that doesn’t require a computer, lol.
