Poetry Train..

I streak across the sky
Naked of all but my dreams.
The stars laugh at me.
They were what I am now.
I am a dreamer who hasn’t learned about dreams.
I know that the dreams I have have no place in this world.
But they have no place any where.
Dreams are the madness the mind creates when it needs peace.
Dreams are the child who makes faces in the clouds.
That child streaks naked across the sky as I do.
Will it get burned?
What chance has that child to survive the madness its mind has created?
It will join the rest of the stars and burn out.
Dreams are the very air we breath.
The very particles we are made up of are dreams.
Whose madness has created us?

    Elizabeth,

I’d recommend getting the first one in the series. As side from it being hot and sexy..lol..it will help with the lingo, I think. 🙂

Thanks everyone. This dream poem was written awhile ago, but when I was looking through my stuff, I thought it was a good one to post. Dreams are good in that they give us a chance to reach beyond ourselves, but they don’t always end up being happy or beautiful for that matter. They can tangle us up in madness if we let them. 🙂

TA, got demon hunting today. I really liked it. It moved pretty well, and although it had it’s sort of own lingo, it didn’t interfere much in the story. It moved quite quickly was HOT. Thanks for the advice! Now I’m tempted to go get the first in the series… my poor checkbook!

    Powerful ending! Love it!

HA! I’ve been waiting all day to be kid-free so I can read your poem, Lisa’s excerpt, and Gautami’s potty poem, and you go and surprise me with not only something the kids could have overseen, but so beautiful and that so clearly speaks to a very deep part of me…

TA, this is gorgeous. I SO get it.

  6. Ann says:

Incredible poem, beautiful imagery. It reminds me of the song Sting wrote with the line “Or perhaps the dream is dreaming us.”
(i can’t think of which song off the top of my head, it’s been a looong day) 🙂

  7. Jill says:

I cannot say nothing else but that I agree with everything you said in the poem!!
    Wow!!

  8. Lisa Andel says:

Damn, another shade of darkness here. I’m definitely going with Anne D. on this one. There is something eerily familiar about this poem …

And thanks for the pimpin’ 🙂

  9. Robin L. Rotham says:

Great poem, T.A. I sometimes wonder if it’s the dreams that are real and the rest is just madness…

    Wow. Just Wow.

This is my favorite line – maybe because I have some really weird dreams 🙂

“Dreams are the madness the mind creates when it needs peace.”

    Happy Monday
