Happy Hunk Day!

Yep..it’s Wednesday again. Thank goodness. Another two days and then a long weekend. 🙂

Did some more writing. Worked on a short story that will be part of a two-story book Paige and I are doing for Liquid Silver. Has to do with food. Now I have to do some research on the Japanese tea ceremony. *shaking head* Sometimes I wonder why I come up with these ideas…lol. Also went back to re-read some of Here Be Dragons (coming out in the fall from Loose-id). I’m getting a scene in my mind that will actually take place in the third book of the series. The second one (which I haven’t done much thinking on) will be Mordred and St. George’s story. Should be fun.

Well…off to do my ‘real’ job. Have a great day, everyone.

Sure — I’ll tell you what I know (unfortunately, it’s not much 🙂 The ceremony is called cha-no-yu or chado and there are lots of rules (go figure!). You might try this site:

(I’m not sure how to make the link active so you’ll have to copy & paste there…)

If you need any info on Japanese wedding ceremonies or the seppuku ritual (suicide — don’t think you’ll need that!) I know much more about them. 🙂

k..S.W. I never did see KK2. guess I might have to go and rent it. Can you tell me the name of the ‘falling in love’ ceremony? That’s the one I’m looking for. I did a little research already, but not in-depth yet.

  3. S. W. Vaughn says:

Nope, there’s only one “falling in love” tea ceremony. No worries on that, TA. 🙂 Of course, I should have guessed that was the one you were researching!

Have you seen Karate Kid II? The tea ceremony scene between Pat Morita (oh, how I loved that man) and his “girlfriend” was very accurate. The later one in that movie with Ralph Macchio and the young girl was a little goofy but still had the same idea.

Good luck and have fun! Now I can’t wait to read about your Japanese character… 🙂

Shoot..there’s more than one ceremony, S.W.? Uh-oh..I guess I better get started and check out which one would work for my story.

Is there one that’s more intimate that might be used between couples? I’m looking for something like that based in Japanese culture since one of my heroes is of Japanese descent.

I liked the idea, but hey it’s your story…do as you please. Since it isn’t mentioned in my ‘synopsis’..lol.

You didn’t see me running away screaming when you suggested it, did you? It’s a good idea. I want something a little unusual for the story.

  6. T.A.Chase says:

That’s sweet of you, girl. 😉 Just remember he was yours first.

TA — which Japanese tea ceremony are you researching? Just curious; I’ve done a ton of research on Japanese culture and customs, and I’m even (slooooowly) learning the language…

Lovely pic. Thanks for sharing, Jenna! 🙂

I’m thinking about changing the Mac and cheese thing, it’s sort of…cheesy. 🙂

And I think the tea ceremony was my idea, sorry.

  9. Jenna Howard says:

I’ll share him. This time. 😉

  10. T.A.Chase says:

I didn’t know if you’d be willing to share him, Jenna. But he was just too hot not to let others at least see him. 😉

Yep…Hers involves a special recipe for Mac & Cheese and mine has an Asian flare to it. lol It’ll be fun.
