Friday thoughts….

I thought I’d give you all some eye candy to start the weekend off right. 🙂

But I need to have a serious moment with all of you. There’s something that I need to get off my chest and it’s been bugging me for quite some time. I’ve just never been able to figure out the best way to say it. After talking with some good friends, I’ve decided just to come out and say it.

I’m female. I chose my pen name for personal reasons and never really thought I’d meet people I would come to consider good friends online. Then like a snowball rolling downhill, it got bigger and bigger until I had to chose; get swept under it or stop it. I’m choosing to stop it from taking over. Being honest with you all is a new start. But even though those reasons still exist, I couldn’t in good conscious continue to stay quiet about this.

As odd as it might sound, though I’ve never met any of you, you’ve all become important to me as readers and as people in your own right. You deserve to know the truth. I want to be able to look my readers and friends in the eye knowing there are no misconceptions about who I really am. I will now be able to meet some of you at conventions without the worry of discovery.

I can’t imagine how any of you might feel right now and you are more than welcome to vent on my blog about it. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone by my omission, but I don’t blame you at all if you feel betrayed, hurt or angry because of it.

Please understand that I’m very sorry for not having said anything before this. I hope you can forgive me and keep stopping by my blog to check out the eye candy.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. And I do plan on posting something on Labor Day. 🙂

What does gender matter when you write some of the most beautiful love stories I've ever read. Your writing makes me happy.

    T.A,
I guess I never gave much thought to your gender. It is the talent and the content of your character that matters. Oh also the content of your characters and stories. LOL I would be remiss not to mention that as well. I think your are especially talented and I am sorry that you felt pressure to qualify who you are.

Male or female, you're still TA Chase, author extraordinaire, and it makes not whit of difference to me. You're one of my favorite authors, and that's not going to change. It took a lot of courage to "come out", and I admire you for it.

Hey TA: Your gender is a non issue for me. I appreciate your selfless of the time you spend keeping us readers involved. You have the best Blog I have come across because you are so personable in your comments. I have all your books and read them many times over.. along with Carol L's books also. I am a faithful blog and book follower and will continue to be.. I apprciate your creativity…and I am envious of course.

Male, female, it shouldn't matter. Unfortanately to some it does. The world isn't always a friendly place. Some just can't seem to see outside the box. That it isn't really the gender that a person falls in love with. It is the heart, the light inside a person. I can guarantee there isn't one person in this world that hasn't told some kind of white lie in their lifetime whether it be just omiting some of the truth or twisting existing circumstance to protect an individual. Your omittance is barley a blimp on the radar sweetness. You are and will continue to be a special beautiful person who's talent touches us all. Love you T

Do not let it get to you it is about the books not sauerkraut and wieners

I've read almost all your books and loved everyone of them. I'm always impatient for my next TA fix! Thank goodness for blog stories! So it makes no difference to me if you have dangley bits or not 🙂 Last I checked that wasn't the part that could write anyway 😉

Just came online tonight to see if you blogged today and ended up reading a lot of the other comments left about your Fri blog. Seems to me that 99.9% are people who see the facts – good person, good writer, good times! lol

The rest, let them deal, it's not your problem – it's theirs.

I started being a reg blogger on your blog about 1 1/2 years ago – you're my friend. I look forward to seeing what you, Jams, Cinders and all the others say – it makes my workday better. I don't have another blog that I comment on regularly. You're the one who blogs daily, returns my emails and accepts that I run on and on at the mouth. Special – see what I see?

Please don't change who you are due to public perception. I don't think anything about you needs to change.

I love your heart (remember – Italian) 🙂 and I wish nothing but the best for you – and the hope that you'll always allow me in the passenger seat for the ride! lol

Oh geez, I though you were going to say you weren't going to be writing anymore…THAT would've been a reason to freak out!

Love ya and congrats on owning to the "innie", if only because it seems to have been something on your mind. Us? We love your writing. Period. ((hugs)) Dev

Why are the only letters to find fault with you signed anonymous? Seems they have a problem with themselves. Please don't stop writing or your blogs, it doesn't matter and it shouldn't matter what gender you are. You share your talent and you deserve your privacy for whatever reason. Your cool with me.

    HUGS HUGS HUGS!!!

It doesn't matter to me who you are, your gender, how many noses or warts you have, short or tall, thin or fat, deaf, or with supersonic eyesight, you are the BEST DAMN WRITER I've ever had the privilage to read, and get to know. Who really cares?? I don't! If someone truly was hurt by your confession, perhaps they have some issues with their sexuality/gender/etc that they need to confront first, and not pass judgment on others. You had/have your reasons to keep your identity a secret, and to me, it's STILL a secret (although if you live in the Midwest, can you stop by my house, so I can meet you in person?? I live in Kansas City, MO—lol).

I think I can echo the others on your wonderful blog by saying that we LOVE TA Chase, no matter who TA Chase is!! You will always be TA 🙂

    From another TA,

    Tame Adams (chrysalis1975)

PS: I think you being a female is COOL BEANS!!!

  12. Anonymous says:

For the record ta did lead us to believe the she was a guy with her 'about an author' on some of her books. I personally don't care about gender, but to state that:

I live in the Midwest with my partner of nine years. We’re doing our best to prove that couples like us can stay faithful and together forever if we so chose.

then state sike just seems mean. I will continue to read your books because I don't care if a man/woman/alien or unicorn writes the stuff as long as I enjoy them – but it just seems like you purposely misled us and acted like you understood our troubles.

  13. joey says:

Damn TA! Is that all? Shit! I thought you were gonna say somethin like you had 2 weeks to live….shit! dont scare a person like that. Who cares male, female, both…just keep on writin and being a great author who actually answers peoples emails! Alotta authors dont do that…

Wait a minute….if I pretend to be really pissed….does that mean I get Shade's story sooner?! hmmmm….I'd better rethink this…hahahahahahahaahahaha

    Luv ya TA! stay cool!

  15. fcammer2 says:

Gender definitely makes no difference to me TA! We all love you no matter what and your books are awesome! Please do not worry about this!

  16. Anonymous says:

Like everyone else said you are still TA not matter what your gender. I love your books and will continue to by them. Hope you have a nice day with Carol. Thanks for the eye candy.

    TA,

It doesn't matter what gender you are all that matters is the writing. And you are a great author and I enjoy your books. Thanks for all the great reads. Keep them coming.

    Thanks

  18. ceagles says:

Honestly I always thought you were female. It was only recently that some comment was made about you being a male. I was still going for a woman though. But can understand why you went that way. Have a great weekend and can't wait to see what you post. Love your writing.

  19. Anonymous says:

That gave me a scare. Thought you were going to stop the blog, or writing, but gender – who cares. The stories are awesome.

  20. Bethie says:

    TA-
You are just awesome! I may be a bit startled to learn you're not the guy author I tout enthusiastically to my friends, but now I'll just say "TA, SHE'S awesome, go read her!" I was hooked from DoD and Angel's Evolution and I'm staying hooked. Thank you so much for being so true to yourself and please know you have a loving fan right there with you for as long as you share your awesome talent and characters with us.
    *hugs and loves*

  21. Anonymous says:

I am a fan and will continue to be so. I don't care if one of my favorite author's is male or female. What I do care about is that you felt it necessary to mislead and hide from fans so no one would find out your gender. What message were you sending by thinking it necessary/ok to mislead and hide? If more than 80% of the comments here are to be believed, no one cared about gender in the first place. So, why did you feel it necessary to mislead?

  22. Gwendolyn says:

I've been a fan for years. While it must have been difficult to admit your gender, it won't matter to your fans. Your books are really, really great. Keep writing the stories that make laugh and cry and think. Thanks.

  23. Anonymous says:

As a person who lives within the world you write about I was disappointed. Maybe this doesn't belong here, but there is a part of me who resents those who can have their cake and eat it too. I don't get to say 'oops'. We really do exist everywhere and are treated unfairly and HATED, our relationships and children at risk. You write our lives and loves very well, and if it helps people to understand I'm all for it.

That said you're an excellent writer and I do believe in your profile statement. I don't think I'll be commenting for awhile. As someone who loves according to the person and not their "bits" my hurt is hard for me to understand, but it's real.

It does take Courage to be honest, whatever the circumstances so I applaud you for that.

    Hoping you're an ally.

    Cindy

Thank you sharing a part of yourself when you didn't have too. I love the gift you share that is your work…that is the only thing that really matters to me. Who are are shines through in every word you write…no one better 🙂

I love you and your books regardless of your sex. Balls, no balls, you swing a pretty big bat when you put pen to paper, so no worries. You've got mail.

    Love ya.

TA,the first book of m/m romance I ever read was your book "Out of Bounds" and I instantly became a fan. You have a great gift for writing, your gender doesn't matter. Love your blog, and your books! 🙂

TA, Keep up the good work. You are my Shero!! I hope to follow in all the female M/M authors footsteps one day and write good stories. I am just trying to get up the nerve to actually sit down and write something. Please keep feeding my addiction, YOUR STORIES!! Love Ya!!

My thought process went something like this…

    Wow! Really!?

    Huh. Neat!!
