Happy Hump Day

Wow…Wednesday all ready? I know it sounds odd, but the week is just flying by. π
I don’t have much to report. Writing is going well. I’m managing at 3k a day on one story and getting little bits for some other ones.
Hope you all have a great day.
Finally it’s Friday…

Thank goodness the weekend’s finally here. This week started out crummy and has gotten a little better over the days. I’m feeling much better, but still I’m looking forward to sleeping in the next two days. π
Well, Tabloid Star has a September release date. I’ll give you the exact date as soon as I can. And it looks like Dreaming of Dragons will probably be out in May. Of course, neither of the dates are a hundred percent solid. Like everything else, it’s subject to change…lol.
Still that gives me six books out the first six months of this year. π If I write quick enough, maybe I can fill in July and August, so there won’t be a gap between any books until we get into fall and winter.
If you remember, for one Poetry Train, I posted an excerpt from a story titled Nowhere Diner (which I’m thinking of changing to Cookie’s Diner…we’ll have to see). Little did I expect when I wrote that scene, that Tim, the character whose point-of-view we hear the story from, would not shut up. I’m 31k into his story now, and hoping that I’ll be much farther along by the end of the weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me. (I know a lot of you are waiting for other books to get finished and come out, but I can only work on the stories that are flowing for me and this one happens to be it. But don’t worry, I’ll be getting back to those other stories soon enough.)
Hope you all have a great weekend.

I’ve been thinking all morning about what to blog about today and nothing’s come to me…lol.
Oh wait…brain storm…lmao. I’m listening to Seven Spanish Angels at the moment, sung by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles. Have you ever heard a song that would make a great story, but since it doesn’t have a particularly happy ending, there’s no way you could write it for public consumption? lol. I mean it’s a great song and would make a great Western (of course with a m/m twist), but the song itself doesn’t have a happy ending for the lovers die in the end. *you really need to listen to the song…one of my all-time favorites* As a writing excerise for myself, I might write the story I see in my mind every time I hear the song and see if a happier ending would work with the story or if it worked best with the ending it has.
One of my regular blog readers asked if I had certain songs that go with certain stories. I do and I’m going to put together a blog post aobut that for a Wednesday or Friday…maybe next week.
Writing is going well. No major road blocks or anything. Thank God…lol.
I hope you all have a great weekend. π
P.S. I posted an excerpt at SiN for Death or Life. Stop by and check it out.
Wednesday at last…

On Sunday, Samhain gave out their first annual Sammie awards. It was an ambitious challenge because they went all the way back to 2006 when they opened to find out the top ten bestsellers and reader’s choices from each year, plus best cover art. I’m sure any of you who took their survey know what I’m talking about…lol.
I’m proud to say that Out of Bounds tied for 4th place in the 2008 Reader’s Choice catagory. π I tied with some pretty awesome authors, Lorelei James, Maya Banks, and Lauren Dane. Thank you all for voting and if you voted for me, double thanks. π
More good news, I just signed the contract for Liquid Silver to publish Death or Life…which means Mars’s Assassin has moved up on my writing schedule. I’ll be adding additional scenes to DoL. I don’t have a release date yet, though it will be out this year…lol.
This gives me six books contracted to come out so far this year. Woo-hoo! And I’m only in January. I still have several months to go to get more released this year. I have another book in with one of my editors. Who knows? That one might be my seventh.
I’m at 41k on Nick of Time and things are really flowing with that story. Plus I did a little work on His Heart’s Home and Bound by Trust (JT’s story…Tyler’s brother) Those two are lined up to be worked on as soon as Nick is done.
It’s snowing here. I hope everyone who is in the midst of the big snowstorm is safe and warm. π Have a great Wednesday.
Finally Friday.

This weekend if you don’t have anything to do, stop by the Samhain Cafe and check out the first annual Sammie awards. It’ll be fun. There will be prizes and excerpts from all your favorite Samhain authors. π
I can tell you one piece of good news…lol. Samhain is putting the first two books in my Love of Sports series together in one print book. Out of Bounds has been out since last April and High Line comes out Feb. 17th. The print book will be titled Playing the Game and should have a new cover combining aspects of both stories. It’ll be out Winter of 2009. That’s as specific as I can get right now. As soon as I give more details I will.
Oh, I have a new interview out right now at Joyfully Reviewed. Check it out. I had a lot of fun doing it. π I’m doing another interview with Wave in February (whose blog isn’t always safe for work..lol) and then in April, I’ll be at DIK with the ladies for a couple of days. So not only will you be getting a new book from me each month through May (at least), you’ll be getting interviews galore. π
Writing is going well. I’m still plugging away at Nick of Time, though I admit yesterday, I took a break from their story to work on a story that’s be haunting me for over a year or so. I don’t want to say much about it yet, since I just started it and probably won’t be working on it for long before Nick and Gryphon push those characters to the back of the line again..lol. But while they’re talking, I want to get their stories down. It’s going to be a very emotional and touching story (at least I hope it will be) and have a mixture of historical and contemporary elements.
Hey, have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. π
Happy Wednesday

Well, yesterday was quite an exciting day here in America. Whether you voted for President Obama or not, you couldn’t help but get swept up in the occasion. All those people watching history being made. π Here’s to the new President and his cabinet…may you make good decisions and keep us safe.
I’ll have more good news soon. Just waiting on the official paperwork…lol. I’m one of those people who doesn’t like to say anything until all the ‘i’s have been dotted and the ‘t’s have been crossed. Don’t want to jinx anything.
My stories are coming along. I got a good amount written yesterday since I took the day off. π
Hope you all have a great day.
Happy Wednesday

All that talk yesterday about Louis L’Amour made me go to Amazon and check their Kindle store. Woo-hoo! They have a bunch of L’Amour books available for the Kindle. I’m going to go on a shopping spree, I think, once I get another two books written. I used to own almost all of L’Amour’s books in paperback, but through several moves and fits of cleaning, I’ve gotten rid of all of them. Stupid. But this way, I get them in ebook form and they won’t take up any actual space except on my hard drive. Yay!
Writing is going well for adding to Nick of Time. Get about 1k done a day which is good right now. Things have sort of stalled on His Heart’s Home, but I’m not too worried about it. As soon as I get Nick done, I’ll dive into HHH and finish it up.
Oh I have a question, if you want to take the time to answer it. Just curosity more than anything else. An author friend of mine and I were tossing around ideas for a ‘sweet’ m/m romance series. It was going to be an inspirational series revolving around a certain church, but it’s evolved into a simple ‘sweet’ romance. I was wondering if you would be interested in reading the stories. We have a publisher interested in at least looking at them and deadlines set already for us to finish them.
Let me know what you think about the idea. π
Hope you all have a great Wednesday. Stay inside and warm as much as possible.

I’m so glad it’s the weekend…or close to it. Only 8 more hours of work before two days off. π Too bad about the work because I won’t have any time to sneak in any writing today except for lunch…lol. Darn it. Don’t they understand I need to write?
I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.
Happy Friday

Hearts Afire: January will be available Jan. 5th (next Monday) at around 6-7 pm. Mark your calanders…lol.
Nothing real exciting to report todayβ¦lol. I plan on hanging out and doing some writing if I can. I’m only two or three chapters away from finishing Tabloid Star. When it’s done, I’ll send it off to my beta reader and critique partners. I’ll also set it aside for a day or two. Then I’ll go back, re-read to make sure I didn’t screw anything up, write up a synopsis and submit it. Then it’s on to His Heart’s Home to get that done. After HHH, it’ll be Nick of Time. Once Nick is done, I’ll add another three stories to the schedule and get cracking on them.
I keep track of every word I write each day. My goal is to do 2k each day. Some days I’m lucky and can get 2k done on one story. Other days, my 2k might be spread out between two or three stories, but I figure as long as I’m writing, it’s all good. At the end of the week and then at the end of the month, I add up all the totals to get one big total. At the end of the year, I add all the monthly totals up to get the yearly total. And now that your eyes have crossed and you wonder why does that matter to you? To be honest, it doesn’tβ¦lol. I’m just babbling. I thought December would be a slow month for me since on Christmas Eve and Christmas, I didn’t do any writing at all. Imagine my surprise when I added it up and realize I wrote 69k in Dec. alone. Wowβ¦my biggest monthly word total ever. (at least since I started keeping track of itβ¦) And my yearly total was 343,866 words in 2008 which down slightly from last year. J
The only goal I set for myself each year is to have one more book out than I did the year before. I’ve beat that goal already by having five books scheduled for release in the first five months of the year. Now I’ll see how many I can get out this year and then completely freak about trying to meet that same goal for 2010β¦lol.
I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Day. Have a great weekend as well.
