Wednesday WIP

First order of business…All Romance Ebooks is having a Christmas give-away. They’ve been giving away books for free and my book, Pestilence, is free today and tomorrow. If you haven’t picked it up yet, or if you know someone who might like it, but hasn’t been able to get it yet. Here’s the link.

Second of all, today’s WIP is titled Reserved for Him, one of the short stories I’m working on for next year. 🙂

Excerpt: (copyright c. 2012 T.A. Chase)

“I want you all to fucking think of a fucking solution.”

It was going to be one of those days, Ion though as he pushed his mail cart off the elevator onto the executive floor of Bellamy International.

“Why the fuck do I pay you bastards such fucking ridiculous salaries if you can’t come up with one fucking good idea?”

Ion winced before sending Patrick, his best friend and Mr. Adrien Bellamy’s executive assistant, a sympathetic grin. “Sounds like he’s in rare form today.”

“You have no idea. Bellamy’s been like this all morning.”

Adrien Bellamy was the CEO and President of Bellamy International, a multi-national company that acquired failing businesses and tried to make them successful again. Well, it was just one branch of the business. Bellamy International had its fingers in several different pies, which suited Ion just fine. He might only be working in the mailroom right now, but he planned on making his way up the corporate ladder to a trouble shooting position some day.

Ion was ambitious, and it was his drive to succeed that brought him to the company. Bellamy International was one of the top 100 businesses in the world. What better place for a young businessman to work at?

“All your ideas are shit. I won’t lay off a thousand workers simply because the men in charge were fucking greedy crooks. You have to find me a solution that doesn’t result in people losing their jobs.”

Ion knew better than to ask why Mr Bellamy was furious. Patrick couldn’t tell him since being the head man’s minion meant he came across a lot of sensitive material, and it meant Patrick’s job if he were to share any of it, even with another person in the company.

After handing Patrick mail, Ion checked his list to see whom else he had to deliver to.

“They’re all in the conference room. Have been since this morning when I got here. Bellamy called a meeting of all the execs.” Patrick sifted through the large pile of envelopes Ion had given him.

“Why aren’t you in there taking notes or whatever he has you do during meetings?”

Patrick shrugged. “Not sure. I sent him a text to see if he needed me for anything. He told me to cancel the rest of his meetings for the day, and work on something else.”

They both jumped when a loud crash resounded from the conference room. Ion straightened from where he’d been resting his hip against Patrick’s desk. The door flew open and ricocheted back after hitting the wall with force. He and Patrick watched in amazement as Mr Richardson, the CFO, dragged Mr Bellamy out of the room.

“God damn it, Sidney. Why the fuck do I have them here if they can’t figure out one fucking solution? Monkeys are more intelligent than that group.” Mr Bellamy yanked his arm out of Mr Richardson’s grip. He started to pace the length of Patrick’s office area.

Ion had left his cart next to the elevator, and he found he was happy about that because his boss would’ve tripped over it. It paid to stay out of the way when Mr Bellamy was angry. After pressing into a corner, he hoped no one would notice him.

“They’re fucking morons.” Mr Bellamy ran his fingers through his hair.

“Patrick, can you call the cleaning crew and get someone to come up here. There’s a mess in the conference room.” Richardson seemed calm, bet then he always did. Ion had never seen the CFO lose his cool in the three years Ion had worked for the company.

Mr Bellamy was the complete opposite. He lost his temper at least once a week, usually at Patrick, then later that night, Ion would get an earful about what a prick Bellamy was.

New in Print….

If any of you are interested in print books, the first in my Four Horsemen series, Pestilence, is available now in print form. Woot! Check it out here.

Also, I’m doing pretty well on my Valentine’s story. I do believe it’ll be finished today, then I can go back to work on Death, and get that one finished by the end of the month. Yay! lol

Hope you all have a great Monday.

Pestilence is out….

Pestilence, the first book in The Four Horsemen series I’m writing for Total e-Bound is available now. click here to check it out. I’m really excited about this series, and I hope everyone who reads it enjoys it. 🙂

Here’s the blurb:

For Pestilence, the White Horseman, love becomes the most powerful cure.

Having lost his wife and child during the Black Death, Pestilence accepts the fate destiny has given him as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. For centuries, Pestilence did his job, spreading plagues and disease around the world. He does it to keep the balance between good and evil, yet he hates every minute of it. He longs to be left alone, but suddenly fate seems to have a different plan for him.

When Bart Winston stumbles into an Amazon clearing, he’s terribly ill and sure he’s going to die. A tall white-haired man with unusual black eyes catches him in his arms and Bart’s life takes a turn into the unbelievable. Blaming the whole situation on his illness might have worked, but as he gets better and learns about the strange man who heals him, Bart must accept there are more things in the world than he ever guessed.

Pestilence and Bart heal each other, and begin to wonder if there can be a future for the White Horseman and the mortal he’s fallen in love with.

War comes out Dec. 26th….and Pestilence will be out in print in November. Yay! Oh, and my next release from Loose-Id, which is scheduled to come out Oct. 18th has made it to the coming soon page at Loose-Id. No blurb or cover yet, but those should be up there soon as well. Not much to see there yet. I’ll post the blurb for Borderline as soon as I can. 🙂

I hope you all have a great Monday.

Happy Labor Day…

Happy Labor Day, everyone. I hope your weekend so far has been fun and safe. 🙂

Mine’s been pretty quiet. Done some writing, and hanging out with family and friends. Woot!

Got the final edits done on Pestilence, and it’s up for pre-order for those of you who like to do that. 🙂 Click here to check it out. I’m really hoping you, the readers, like this new series. It’s been interesting to write. Of course, Famine is on my schedule to start as soon as I finish Joy of the Season, my short Christmas story for MLR Press. 🙂

I’ve been doing pretty good on Joy, not sure how many words I actually have because I’ve been writing it out long hand in a notebook. Might seem a little odd, but sometimes stories flow better for me when I write them out, instead of sitting in front of a computer or laptop. My plan today is to type in what I’ve written and see where I’m at.

Hope you have a great Monday…and a safe one as well.

Woot!

Marvelous news. Yesterday, while I was killing time before meeting some friends for dinner, I stopped by my local B&N…and like I always do, I check out the Gay & Lesbian shelves (also the romance shelves) to see if they might happen to have any of my books. OMG! Imagine my happy surprise when I see they have a copy of A Tabloid Love. I wanted to jump up and down and squeal like a little girl seeing Justin Beiber. (or however you spell his last name)

I didn’t. Mostly because there wasn’t anyone else with me…lol. I took a picture of it on the shelf, and went to ask the manager if I could autograph it for whoever was wonderful enough to buy it. They let me…and I’m was so excited. 🙂

Moving on, I’m working the edits for Pestilence, then back to the Christmas story I’m working on. I have to say I’ve written most of it out in longhand, and will have to type it in, but I think I have over half of it done now. 🙂 Hopefully, by the end of the long weekend, I’ll get it done completely.

I hope you all have an awesome and safe Labor Day weekend. 🙂

Look at this pretty….

This is the cover for the first Horsemen book, Pestilence. Isn’t it gorgeous? Just what I was hoping for. Now I really can’t wait to see the other three covers. I think they’re going to look beautiful as print books as well.

This will be out on Sept. 12th…and I thought I’d post the blurb again to whet your appetite.

Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series

I’ve turned in the cover art form for War, and I’m working on the forms for Famine and Death, even though I haven’t written the stories yet. 🙂 I’m still plugging away on Bandit’s story, and things are going well with his book. I’ve introduced some new characters I think you’ll like. Now I just have to decide if I’m going to write their stories as well, or just let you all decide what happened to them…lol

Have a great Friday and a marvelous weekend.

Blurb for Pestilence

Okay…I don’t have a cover for Pestilence yet, but I do have blurbs for the book and the series. Now they are subject to change once my editor gets a hold of them. 🙂 But I thought you might like to know what Pestilence and the Horsemen series is all about.

The Four Horsemen series Blurb:

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse-Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death- creatures of myth and legend, yet were all human once. Each one dying an untimely death, and finding themselves reborn as one of the beings charged with keeping the world in balance. They’ve existed for centuries, doing their jobs in solitude and loneliness, staying away from mortals they are trying to protect.

When fate brings an opportunity to be free of their curse, will the Horsemen be strong enough to grab their chance or will they stay trapped in the prison of their own making?

Pestilence Blurb:

Having lost his wife and child during the Black Plague, Pestilence accepts the fate destiny has given him as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. For centuries, Pestilence did his job, spreading plagues and disease around the world. He does it to keep the balance between good and evil, yet he hates every minute of it. What do you think?

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a marvelous weekend.

Woot!

Woo-hoo! Pestilence is done and turned in. 🙂 Now it’s on to War and hopefully hitting my self-imposed deadline for that story. I’d like to get it finished a month ahead of schedule, because it would put me ahead of schedule on all the rest of my books for the year. And that would be awesome.

I hope you all had a great weekend and have a good Monday as well.

Not much to say….

I don’t have anything exciting to say today…lol. Just going to be another day of writing and hoping I get closer to finishing Pestilence. I’m so close to getting it done, but my mind doesn’t want to focus on it. I think my mind wants to work on a different story now. I keep promising it we will, just as soon as we finish the story we’re doing right now. 🙂

I hope you all have a great day and a marvelous weekend.

Hunky Wednesday

Well, the weather sure is weird lately. Yesterday, it was hotter than hell…and we had tornado warnings and torrential rain. Today, it’s supposed to be sunny and only in the low 70s. No wonder my head hurts most of the time…lol.

Writing is going well. I only have about 4k left to add to Pestilence, and I’ve actually started War. At least, I’ve written some of the first chapter in long hand. I’ll type it in when I finish up Pest. Haven’t heard back about the other synopsis I sent in, but it’s no big deal since I have a bunch to get done already. 🙂

I hope you all have a great Wednesday.
