Writing Marathon

That’s what I’m hoping to engage in today. C is heading off for a family gathering all day and I’m staying home. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy C’s family, but I can only take them in small doses. I’ve gotten a bigger dose than usual this week, so I’m letting him go without me.

I plan on writing as much as possible on several different stories today. Getting farther along on Angel’s story. Maybe some done on Magpie and Snake’s. One or two more that I’ve started, but haven’t visited in a while. πŸ™‚

I got 1117 words written on Angel’s story yesterday, but did a little work on a few other stories.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Thanks JJR. for some reason I felt it was important to have names with a deeper meaning for this story. Also the images the names create helps form an image of the characters’ personalities, I think.

Cool!! I think it’s interesting that you chose names that have a deep meaning, ya know? Not names like Carl or Joe, everyday names. While there isn’t anything wrong with those names, it’s a great change to see names where you know they have meaning.

JJR…it’s always encouraging for me to know there are people out there waiting for new stories from me. πŸ™‚

Well, I picked the name Magpie for several reasons. One is the character talks constantly and he’s especially foul-mouthed when he gets emotional. The other thing is in Western culture, magpies (the birds) are seen as evil and thieves. Some legends/lore associate them with the devil. But in Eastern culture, magpies are seen as good luck and have a good connotation. The same thing with snakes. πŸ™‚ So there’s a double meaning going on with both names.

I’ve definitely got to learn more about Magpie and Snake. Where’d the name Magpie come from?!?

Have a great day regardless!! πŸ™‚
