Samhain news…
yep…I have another book contracted with Samhain. Just got the news yesterday that they have my signed contract in hand. (I don’t like to mention anything until the publisher has the contract. Just in case something happens…lol)
This is another cowboy story, but it has light BDSM overtones as well. I happened to finish it and sub it the week before one of the other editors at Samhain issued a call for submissions to a cowboy anthology. Oh well. This’ll work out better for me, I think. 🙂
December is the tentative release month.
Here’s the unedited blurb:
Two cowboys fall in love. It’s as simple and as complicated as that.
Tyler Newsome is heading home to the Lazy N. He’s tired of the rodeo and tired of always being his charismatic twin’s shadow. It’s time he gets a life of his own and maybe the man he’s always dreamed of.
Ren Alston’s always been attracted to Tyler Newsome, but never made a move because of the mental and emotional baggage Ren carried. Ren has spent years taming his demons and gaining control in every aspect of his life. Now that Tyler’s coming home, Ren sees the younger man’s return as a sign of good things to come.
But first, they have to deal with Tyler’s twin, past indiscretions and Ren’s brothers. Will these two cowboys manage to build a strong foundation of trust and love or will their problems be too much for them?
Warning: Explicit manlove. Hot naked cowboys, caramel sauce, spanking, whipping and a new twist on the old fashioned roll in the hay.
In other news, I finished up the second Love of Sports book, High Line last night. That will get submitted to my editor at Samhain by the end of the week. Then it’s on to a new book. 🙂
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Thanks you TA, I liked Out of Bounds. Looking forward to the next book in the series. I really enjoyed reading about Garrett in Out of Bounds 🙂
Yay!!! More TA manlove!!!!! Woot!
This is wonderful news. Congrats on all your hard work paying off.
Just one question. When do you sleep? lol
Melanie,
I have one more story that I absolutely need to finish. I’m planning on getting that done by the end of July at the latest. As soon as that’s finished, I’ll be working on Derek’s story.
The good thing about Derek’s story is it shouldn’t take me long to finish it up. I have a quarter of it written.
If I get it done when I plan, Derek’s story could be out in Dec. or Feb. of next year. (Feb. because I might have another story out at LSB in Jan.)
Now that you have finished High Lines is Derek St. Martin next in line for his story? Can’t wait for all of them to come out. Famished here for your writing and stories. Am currently rereading No Going Home.
Melanie
Oh…she will. Out of Bounds is so good I’ve read it 5 times!!!
L,
Sure. High Line is about Garrett, Kasey’s twin brother. He rescues C.J. Lamont from destroying his life. C.J. is one of the top drivers in NASCAR. He gets outed by his ex-wife and his life falls apart.
High Line is about C.J. learning to deal with the public knowing about him and whether he stays ‘out’ or goes back in the closet to rescue his career.
I hope you enjoy Out of Bounds.
Wow..Melissa, you’re right. I forgot about butterscotch. Hmmm…the ideas…lol.
Hi TA,
Can you tell us anything more about the second book of The Love of Sports series? I’m currently reading book one at the moment 🙂
L
WooHoo! Congrats TA! You are the best and I LOVE your stories. I’m always ready for more. 🙂
Nonsense, You still got blueberry, raspberry, peach, pineapple, butterscotch… Can you tell I like a little culinary action? lol
Thanks, everyone.
I had fun writing the caramel scene. High Line, the one I just finished, has a scene with honey in it. 🙂
I think I’m running out of sundae toppings to use…lol
Yay! Congratulations!!!
Is it December yet?
That is the best warning ever. Oooh caramel sauce AND spankings? I had to delurk just for that warning.
Congrats! You are a writing dynamo.
Congrats again TA!
I LOVE the warning! December can’t come too soon.
Congrats, TA! You are just a writing machine and my hero. I can’t seem to get my latest story to work. I want to slap the Muse upside her head.
Caramel sauce, spanking and naked cowboys… I really can’t wait for this one.
Have a great one.
That’s the hope, Yvonne. 🙂
It’s different for each publisher. For Samhain, it looks to be about six months, give or take. So my editor and I will probably start edits in a couple of months. We get about a month or two for the edits. I’m pretty sure the proofers get a month or two..usually.
For Liquid Silver, from contracting to release, they try for four months. So if I were to send them something now and it was contracted at the beginning of July, I’d be looking at an Oct or Nov. release.
I have to admit I don’t think I’ve had a publisher give me quite that tight of a deadline.
Thanks. I’ve got some more sequels in the pipe to work on. 🙂
Yeah! Congrats again! At the rate you are going, you MAY be able to quite that day job-lol.
How long will it be from the time you submit to your editor to publication? The one book I proofed for Aspen Mountain had a ridiculus 7 day window for me to proof an anthology.:(
Can’t wait to see what else you have up your writing sleeve.
Doing the happy dance for you!!!
