Poetry Train…
With a bellow of rage
The beast bursts forth.
Anger and power in every
Movement.
His hand grips.
Legs wrap tight.
He rides the demon.
The ground shakes.
The air fills with
Dust and heat.
But there is no sound.
Poetry in motion
As he conquers the monster.
He bends,
But doesn’t break.
He believes in his own
Strength.
The animal stops,
Head bowed.
Sides heaving.
He walks away,
Defiantly turning his back
On the beast.
He survives,
But next time
He might not be so
Lucky.

I second that. 🙂
I agree, Jambrea. You could easily see this as being about a relationship. TA needs to just put all his poems in a book so we can read them whenever we want.
Ok…now that you’ve said rodeo I can read it that way as well. I think it can also be read as a relationship. I think that is why this is a great one!
A very poetic take on the rodeo. I love it.
Happy Monday!
Does this have anything to do with you working on your dragons? 🙂
Another great poem. I can see the man and beast clearly.
