Poetry Train…

This is part of a poem. I was interrupted before I could finish it, so I only got the first two stanzas written. When I finish the whole thing, I’ll make sure to post it (someday) for everyone. 🙂

Words have been lost

Sweet songs you sang are silent

With my eyes shut,

I’ve lost the memory of your face.

My arms are empty.

My soul is lonely.

I wish for night to fall

Hiding my missing heart.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and stop by Rhian’s blog for a list of other people joining in the Poetry Train today.

    “my soul is lonely”

this is very powerful and you could leave it like this but I can’t wait to see what else you do!

On another note: it’s Tuesday here! just kidding – sort of. sigh, I’ll be a good girl and wait for actual sunlight.

I agree that it already stands alone as a powerful two-stanza poem. I especially like:

    “With my eyes shut,
I’ve lost the memory of your face.”

    Very layered.

Oh, TA. This narrator’s hurting, dude. I’m hoping that anything that follows will give the guy some relief!

Very nicely done, of course. You have a real feel for this sort of thing.

So sad. More stanzas in this vein might be brutal. But brutal=powerful.

  6. Anne Douglas says:

  8. Robin L. Rotham says:

Oh, what heartbreak! I like this just the way it is — it already has a sense of completeness and finality.

  9. Finlands finest says:

I like it. It could stand alone. Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Hey TA, I haven’t had enough caffeine today to think of an appropriate comment. People are going to love it, though.

TA-they are powerful but sad words!
    They suit my mood today:(

To pick up on a string from last week. Allromanceebooks.com has really good reviews of MM romances.

TA, those first two stanzas are powerful! I can’t wait to see the rest but it actually works as is.
