Poetry Train…

You Hold My Heart
Helpless
Shaking
Nervous
Trying so hard to stay
Knowing
that the only choice
was to leave
You looked at me
with such love
I looked at you
with such fear
You held
Me in
Your hand.
You held
Me in
Your heart.
You held me
chained to the earth.
Packing
Crying
Running
Wanting to say
I love you
Knowing
I couldn’t.
You reach out
to me
I wrap my hand
Around the suitcase.
You held
Helpless
Shaking
Nervous
Trying so hard to stay
Knowing
that the only choice
was to leave
You looked at me
with such love
I looked at you
with such fear
You held
Me in
Your hand.
You held

You held me

You reach out
to me
I wrap my hand
Around the suitcase.
You held
Me in
Your hand.
You held
Me in
Your heart.
You held
Me chained
Me chained
to the earth.
Flying
Dreaming
Needing
I wanted to
Scream
As the cab drove away
The reason why
I couldn’t stay.
You held
Me in
Your hand.
You held
Me in
Your heart.
You held
Me chained
To the earth.
Freedom
Loss
Needing
Wishing
I love you
But
I can’t live
Chained to
The earth.

TA, please get out of my head. It must be residue from my trip, but man, this sums up how I’ve been feeling this week.
I only wish I could say it at all, let alone so eloquently.
Beautifully sad!
Beautiful poem, TA.
God TA – that’s stunning.
I love you
But
I can’t live
Chained to
The earth.
Man, do I know those feelings. I mean remember those feelings.
Wow! So sad. But this is a great song for the bad times.
Gina,
It is sad, but sometimes it’s the way relationships go.
“I love you but I can’t live chained to the earth”
how sad!
This was beautiful
