Pimping Books…

Today’s installment of Pimping Books…is Ms. Ally Blue’s Oleander House. It’s available now from Samhain Publishing.

I like this book because it’s not a romance. I’d call it more of a ‘straight’ (lol) paranormal/suspense with a possibility for romance along the way. So if you go in expecting a romance, you’re going to be disappointed. I really enjoyed it and the second book in the series, What Hides Inside was released earlier this week. But I haven’t been able to read that one yet. Too many other things happening. It’s on my list to buy as soon as I find some free time to read it. Since I know I’ll be reading it in one sitting. 🙂

As for writing, I got inspired and have been working on a short story about a basketball player. It’s only going to be around 25k and I’ve got 11k done so far. It’s been going well. I’ve also been working on Tony’s story and The Vanguard as well. 🙂

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

    Gina,

That’s the same reaction I had when I read OH. The dark bedroom was a little creepy after that. 🙂

I hope to get to WHI soon, but got a few stories of my own to write before I get to it.

Oleander House was on my maybe read list but when What Hides Inside came out, I took another look and added both to my read these list.

Then I come here and you’re pimping OH and I’m thinking that maybe I should up them on my list.

Oh, gads. I was only going to read a couple of chapters, just a taste before bed. BIG MISTAKE. Every time I closed my eyes, I could see the dreams, got that creepy its-too-dark-in-here- feeling. I finished OH that night (missed school the next day) because I had to know how it ended. Had to know it DID end.

I read WHI during the day 🙂

    Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey, Ally? When is the next one coming out?!

You’re more than welcome, Ally. I had to let everyone know how much I loved Oleander House. 🙂

oops…I meant to add that I read Jules’ book and enjoyed it. It was interesting to read one where the characters didn’t have horrible things happen to them. Don’t get me wrong. I like those types of books, but every once in a while, it’s nice to read a book where the story’s about the relationship building between the characters without outside trouble.

    Awesome, Rhi.

I have Emily’s book on my list to buy soon. I love the cover and I’m glad to hear that it’s good. 🙂

lol…I read it as her mailing you a bunny. I don’t anyone who’s that talented to email a stuffed bunny.

  6. Ally Blue says:

OMG, TA, you are a doll-baby! Thank you!
**hugs the stuffing out of you**

dang it – i meant MAILING me a bunny. Emily is good but i don’t think even she can manage emailing of a stuffed toy.

i’m actually going to hit a wee bit of lull for the next week which will allow me to play catchup and take a breather before it all goes to hell again. Working right now in fact, trying to wrap up print jobs for the biggie client who will be out of town all of next week (allowing me that break).

On the reading front – i’m reading Emily’s Wiccan Man right now and it’s got an intriguing paranormal story as well. Emily – she’s da bomb. And i’m not saying that just cuz she’s emailing me an easter bunny either. heh.

Oh – you know what was REALLY different was Jules Jones new one with the dolphins. It ran a little long (can’t believe I’m saying that since i usually pout about ebooks not being long enough) in some places but overall a great story and well worth the buy.

    Hey there Rhian,

Great to see you. Is work finally calming down for you? 🙂

I really need to pick WHI up. Since you enjoyed it so much, I’ll be grabbing it this week.

Ah, thanks for warning us about the series thing.

    Yvonne,

Just remember they’re more mainstream suspense than romance. 🙂 But I still think you’ll love them.

i bought Oleander House when it first came out cuz i’m a big Ally fan and loved it so much that i’ve been on edge of my seat waiting for the next installment. Finished What Hides Inside late last night and damn it was great! It was even better than Oleander. But i think essential to read the books in order, it’s written in true series format.

    ps – miss you TA!!!

    Have a great weekend.
