National Coming Out Day….
Today, October 11th, is National Coming Out Day. We need to show our support for those who do chose to ‘come out’, but also to respect those who aren’t ready or wish to keep their sexual preferences private. 🙂
I wanted to post some links to some sites that will help, especially teenagers and their parents who are dealing with the decision of coming out.

The first link is to Dan Savage’s It Gets Better Project. The second is to a forum for LGBTQ teenagers where they can meet and talk to others dealing with the same issues they are. The Trevor Project is one of the leading national organizations focusing on crisis intervention and suicide prevention among LGBTQ youth.
I didn’t do any writing over the weekend, no matter how well intentioned I was…lol. So it’s back to the grind. Not only my day job, but writing to catch up on what I should have gotten done this past weekend. 🙂

Thank goodness. I was thinking of another Q word and I didnt particularly like it. I should know better than to jump to conclusions. I believe it might be harder growing up nowadays different then it was in the 80s. Kids are meaner now and loyalty is all but forgotten. So sad!

Havan, The Q usually stands for Questioning..it's for all those kids/people who haven't figured out what they identify as yet.
May strength be infused into all kids so they can deal with any and all differences in themselves and others with courage and respect!

Um…I was away at an event and still wrote. Ahhh…yeah…but it was only a couple hundred words. My weekend was a blast. I was not ready for Monday. I already need a nap. 🙂
I'm on FB – blame my daughter, she got me hooked! 🙂 And both my daughter and I joined a group for Coming Out Day in honor of all the GLBT teens out there being harrassed and forced into situations that they never should be! It's an important cause and I hope it blow up today with supporters!
This series of pics is a favorite of mine – the chemistry between Levi and Paul is outstanding! (Look at me, calling them by name as if we're buds . . . I wish! lol)
