Blurb for No Going Home

No Going Home (c)2006 T.A.Chase
Randy Hersch is a rodeo cowboy who has run away from home and a father who hates him. Randy has always denied the attraction he feels towards other men because of his father’s narrow-minded view of the world. When he’s injured by a rouge bronc, he decides to come home and visit his sister. Until he meets Leslie Marshall Hardin III and he knows that destiny has another idea for him.
For eight years, Les had been on top of the equestrian world. He and his partner were the golden boys of the show jumping community. Then at a show in Florida, all that came crashing down with a hoof to the head and Les found himself having to rebuild his life without the man he’d loved there to support him.
From the moment Les meets Randy, he knows he’s in trouble. The young cowboy is battered and bruised, but his lean body and shy grin attracts Les like a dog to a bone. It’s been five years since Les has been interested in anything other than surviving. Now Les’s heart is telling him it’s time to forget the man who abandoned him and open up to a cowboy looking for a gentle hand.
Good news-sort of
lol…I meant to post this earlier, but totally forgot. I got a tentative release date for Here Be Dragons and it’s very general as well…lol It’ll be out in the fall from Loose-Id…think early Fall though. 😉 When I have an exact date, I’ll let everyone know.Read the post below this for the real post of the day.
Theme Songs

do you pick out theme songs for your books? Like a soundtrack to a movie, do certain songs play through your mind while you write?
I always listen to music while I write. Plug in my Ipod mini and hit shuffle…an eclectic collection of songs play while I immerse myself in the world I’ve created for my characters, but I always find one song that comes to symbolize the story I’m working on.
For Here Be Dragons, it was Blackmore’s Night’s “The Storm” and Nickleback’s “Just For”.
“Welcome to the dragons lair/Fingers running through your hair/She asks you out to play…”-Blackmore’s Night
“And I want to make him/Take back all that he took from you/Yes I do/And I want to rip his heart out/Just for hurting you”-Nickleback
For No Going Home, I’ve picked Rob Thomas’s “Lonely No More” and Chris LeDoux’s “Soft Place To Fall”
“I could feel you there beside me/taste your tender lips on mine/You know there’ll always be another bronc/but true love is hard to find…..I still love the rodeo but with you I can have it all/Cause last night I found a soft place to fall.”- Chris LeDoux.
“What if I was good to you?/What if you were good to me?/What if I could hold you till I feel you move inside of me?”– Rob Thomas
NGH is about a twenty-five year old bareback bronc rider and the man he meets who teaches him not to be afraid of who he really is. 🙂
Man with Glasses

Here’s a pic of a man in glasses for you, Kate. Not great, but I’ll tell you what. I think men who wear glasses must be shy…I had a hard time finding this one…unless you want some guys in sunglasses. 🙂
Words Galore

Last night after I doubled my word count for NO GOING HOME, I sat down and organized all the scraps of paper I have where I’ve written scenes and descriptions for my lycan/vampyre books. Since they were all handwritten, I had to type them in. 6500 words later…I called it a night…after begging Paige to read it to help me figure out a title for Book One. She’s gracious enough to be willing to read the very rough draft I have…lol
You’ve seen the three cowboy muses that showed up. Well, this guy arrived with them..drinking his wine from a bottle and wearing leather. He’s a bad boy with a bad attitude. He’s also the only one who’s going to stick around for a while since he’ll be making appearances in all four books of the series I have planned.
His name is Lyva and he’s half-vampyre/half-lycan.
*Why when looking at this picture does the song “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” run through my head…though I guess it should be “Wine Makes His Clothes Fall Off”*
In Honor

In honor of the 4009 words I wrote today on NO GOING HOME and being able to eat the last ice cream sandwich in the freezer (instead of finding out they have all mysteriously disappeared), I give you my other inspirations for NGH and my heroes. Enjoy. I’m off to figure out how much I actually have written down for my lycan/vampyre story. 🙂
Strawberries and Whipped Cream

Because I’m evil…I left my heroes in the middle of enjoying some strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. It’s late at night and no one’s around…do you see where this is going? lol Things are going to get sticky soon. 🙂
I got 2500 words done last night…only 2 more pages and I’ll hit 100 pages so far. I’m at 25k for the story..so I’m thinking it will end up being 50-55k before I’m finished. Not quite as long as Here Be Dragons, but who knows? Since I don’t plot anything..the story might explode and it’ll be alot longer than I think.
Enjoy the strawberries and cream. I’ll be back later with another pic or two.
Snow Baby

Looks like this one could use someone to warm him up…definitely make having snow worth it if he was hanging around.
Busy day at work..so wasn’t able to post until now. I have been able to get some writing done. I’ll give everyone an update on that later on. Didn’t want the day to go by without some eye candy. 🙂
Woo-Hoo!

Here’s one of the muses who showed up on Saturday night. He didn’t show up on my door step though. I was typing away..happily immersed in my story when I heard a cough. Slowly turning around, I find him standing there…his horse’s head was sticking through my window. 🙂
He has let me know that he isn’t sticking around. He’ll be here for as long as it takes me to finish my cowboy story..then he has to ride off into the sunset and find some other writer to inspire. 🙁 Oh well…with the other three guys who showed up along with him…my office is a little crowded.
He’s helping all ready. I hit my 2k goal today and should get more done by the time I go to bed tonight. *tipping my hat to cowboys everywhere*
