Archive for Deepest Cut

Finally Friday….

Hello everyone….the next stop on the Cock & Bull Blog Tour is Marie Sexton’s blog where she has JP Bowie visiting. Here’s the link. Click on it…and check out what JP’s talking about. Don’t forget to comment for the possibility to win prizes…lol.

Writing has been going really well this week. I’m ready to break 10k on Gypsies, which is important…lol. And I’m almost ready to break 20k on The Deepest Cut, my next Young Adult novel. Woot! Both stories need to be at least 50k before I can call them done, and I’m thinking TDC might be closer to 60k, not entirely sure on that yet.

Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but over the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s, I got the idea for a f/f Young Adult story titled Pursuing Hope. Now this isn’t an angsty story or anything like that. Just a girl trying to find the perfect date for prom, and her perfect date would just happen to be another girl. I think I went for non-angsty because I’ve never written a f/f story before, so I thought I’d try something light and fun instead. It’s with my editor right now, and I’m hoping to hear something good about it, but if they decide not to take it, I’ll figure something else out for it. Will I ever write another f/f? Who knows? It’ll all depend on the plot ideas I get. I’m not saying I won’t do it again. 😀

Okay…well, I have to get to writing. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday…and a wonderful weekend.

Here is the awesome cover for Famine, which will be out on Feb. 21st of next year. I’ve adored the covers for all three of the books in this series so far. I love how the cover artist uses color to separate each cover, give it its own originality. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what she does for Death. I finished the last book on Friday, and turned it in.

Now I’m writing a short story called Replacing Memories. It’s a sequel to my Christmas story, Joy of the Season. After RM is done, I’ll be starting Gypsies, which is the first book in a new trilogy called The Beasor Chronicles. I’m looking forward to writing it. 🙂

Also, on Friday, I contracted a new YA story titled The Deepest Cut. It’s not part of the Death series, though I do plan on writing two more books in that series soon. The Deepest Cut will very emotional involving a school shooting and self-mutilation. But it does have a Happy For Now ending, along with the feeling that the main character will be all right.

So I’ll be very busy for next several months, which isn’t all bad. lol I hope you have a great Monday, everyone.

Snowy Thursday

Of course, it’s snowing on the one day I plan to leave the house…lol. Having lunch with my mom and then going to have dinner with one of the ladies I used to work with. Yay!

Shades of Dreams was the #1 best seller at Amber Allure for December. Thank all of you who bought it.

I sent in a partial to my YA publisher this morning, so I’ll be waiting to hear on that. Deepest Cut is a very emotional book, but I think everyone will fall in love with Charlie. 🙂

Voice for the Silent is set to come out on Sunday. I’ll try to remember to post the blurb and an excerpt tomorrow for everyone.

Well, I have to go get ready to start my day. I hope you all have a great Thursday.

First Day of New "Job"

Well, today is the true first day of my staying home and writing full time. I’ve been writing all weekend as well. 🙂 So far it’s felt like it was just a vacation. Now we’ll see how well this goes…lol.

I added about 4k or so to my new YA book, Deepest Cut, over the weekend, plus I worked on the book I’m writing with Carol Lynne. We’re hoping to have it finished by Friday. Actually that’s a doable deadline. We’re in the homestretch of the story now. 🙂

I hope you all have a great Monday.
